Galco combined features from our Miami Classic with a traditional vertical shoulder holster to create a system that’s perfect for the 21st century’s first responders and military personnel. Combat-proven in Iraq and Afghanistan, the VHS has been field tested over military uniforms and general hunting clothing with great success, and thousands are currently in use by American armed services personnel fighting the Global War on Terrorism. Although we did not set out to create another concealment rig, we discovered that it’s hard to break away from our roots. The VHS provides a long-awaited alternative for those who want the concealment of our Miami Classic but, for whatever reason, prefer the classic vertical carry style. A key component of this patented shoulder system is its spider harness. All four points of the spider harness can pivot independently and are connected by our clover shape, trademarked Flexalon swivel back plate. This, along with our patented swivel connectors, results in a perfect fit and lasting comfort for virtually all body sizes and shapes. The Only Holster I Use

I bought my first Galco Shoulder holster for my Beretta 92FS; I bought the second, the Galco Speed Classic (pancake) for my Ruger SP101, and, based on the quality of those two purchases, I bought the third, also for the SP101. After three, I can say: I don't think better can be had. The quality of Galco leather is unsurpassed, the workmanship is as extraordinary as the durability. Reinforced thumb break; sturdy anchors at stress points; superior comfort...The Ruger SP101 is notoriously hard to fit, let alone fit well, and with a system that works.Like all Galco holsters, they work; they work hard; they work well, and, I dare say, they're even beautiful.Now, if you know the tricks for breaking in a leather holster, you'll appreciate just how magnificently the grade of leather used by Galco cooperates in the fitting process. If you don't know the tricks, read the product guide, follow the instructions, and your weapon will get a glove fit. For example, the holster for the SP101 is downright tight almost to the point of seeming like a 2" holster for a 2 1/4" gun (which I have had sent me by other manufacturers). But, after the 'plastic wrap-freezer trick', the weapon fits so well, even the after-market Hogue grips (longer and wider than the factory grips) fit perfectly.I'm old school, and feel that a shoulder rig is the most reliable (e.g., getting to a weapon while seated) and concealable for the lawful permit carry of large and medium framed weapons, hands down. But, that's my personal preference. Even so, the Galco speed classic for the SP101 is the only waist, or belt holster I use.In short: trust me, spend the money for a Galco, and you will not be disappointed.
