  • Log Capacity 1/4 Cord
  • Black Powder Coat Finish

Product Description

All Stainless Steel Hardware! The Woodhaven Firewood Rack has a Black powder coat finish. Woodhaven firewood racks are made in the USA from 16 gauge steel. Unlike the majority of other firewood racks the Woodhaven is built to provide a lifetime of service. From the precision drilled holes that ensure structural integrity to the stainless steel nuts and bolts that will not rust, most other racks use less durable galvanized steel, the Woodhaven is the last firewood rack you will ever need to buy! INCLUDED COVER: This uniquely designed cover keeps the top row of wood completely dry and ready to burn, and allows for air to flow through the firewood to reduce mold and mildew and promote curing! All of the covers fit around the four uprights of the rack and move down as the wood stack gets smaller. The cover is made out of top quality coated canvas, and has velcro front sides for quick access to your firewood. This included cover is only available in black. OPTIONAL FULL COVER: This is an additional full cover designed to be used in areas with extreme weather conditions only during the burning season after the firewood has cured. It is made out of the same material that our standard cover is, with the front flap held down with Velcro strips on each side. The optional full cover is only available in black.

i just received and put together the woodhaven 1/4 cord firewood rack.i found it through a google search ("log rack") and ordered it from amazon.com on 3/29, received it fedex standard on 4/1 afternoon (no kidding!), and just unpacked and put it together within a half hour using a small adjustable wrench and a tiny socket wrench (all by myself... if i didn't have the right tools, i'm sure this would have taken me two to three times as long to assemble).easy peesy! i'm so impressed. nice, compact packing job and instructions, by the way. and both the metal structure and the 12" cover are really well made from quality materials.one minor complaint: the holes for the nut/bolt closest to the welded crossbar is a teeny bit too close. even with my tiny socket wrench, i was barely able to get my tool in position... the socket was a little bit at an angle rather than straight on. i can only imagine that a standard size socket wrench might not be able to negotiate such a tight spot.just a thought for further improvement. i'm very pleased with my purchase. great value for the money, based on my couple hours of online comparison shopping. i can see now why people have purchased multiples of this "less is more" but "you get what you pay for" rack.

5Excellent High Quality Made in the USA Wood Rack
By MonaLS
I've had this rack for over a year now and it works great. It took a little time to put together but was fairly easy for me to assemble with the tools I had on hand. I've had to move it once and it was easy to move. One of the end caps arrived damaged, and with one email to Woodhaven a new one was on its way. This is a very study rack and will last for many years to come. (Cover is however made in China.)

5Supurb flash performance
By SevereWX
Sigma built a winning hot-shoe mount flash head when they decided to put this one together. The flash has plenty of features for a price well below the Nikon line of flashes. It is offers plenty of power and I've found when mated to my Nikon N80 that it gives me perfect exposures every time. The built in near-infrared focus-assist beam is much better than the white annoyo-light built into consumer camera bodies, which is a real plus when working with live subjects such as grumpy old geezers or fidgety tricycle-motors. This results in more captured smiles and less squints, frowning faces, or spooked pets. The flash unit can be set for fully automatic 3D TTL readings, or can be used in full manual mode. The stoboscopic multi-flash has an extremely wide adjustment range for strength, flash duration, and number or flashes. This is great when doing long exposures of single nearby subjects in action. The flash unit is easy to operate and seems to be plenty durable. The instructions are easy to understand and well written. The only thing missing from this unit is a jack for use with external power sources, not a major inconvenience, but you'll want to always carry spare batteries with you.

2Junk
By mmx
This is totally cheap!***THIS IS NOT EQUIVALENT TO A NIKON FLAsh! ***It does not seem to have real TTL (thru the lens) pickup with the camera (D200) So it works just as a flash with its own sensor. If you want a cheap extra flash for backup, this would be ok. But it does not have the features of the true Nikon flash. It is also cheaply built in comparison, and mine did not even come with instructions! (not from Amazon)If you want real Nikon flash capability - get the real thing. IMHO.

This was a gift for my son and he loves it, but be aware that it is pretty high tech and complicated. Great for my son, but it would be to much for me. He said that he would recommend it to experienced or techie type people.

Product Description

From 300mm telephoto to 800mm ultra-telephoto this new lens provides a constant fast maximum aperture and is optimized for digital SLR cameras. This lens covers the telephoto range from 300mm to the ultra-telephoto range up to 800mm. By continuously varying the angle of view from 8.2° to 3.1°, the lens takes a lot of the footwork out of picture composition. New coating reduces Ghost and Flare The new multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance. It is equipped with ELD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass elements Two ELD glass elements in the front lens elements reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum and also ensure sharp, quality images of high contrast. HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor for Sigma, Canon and Nikon mount lenses) The HSM models provide silent, high-speed and precise auto-focusing with full time manual focus override. It also features a drop-in filter It also features a drop-in 46mm filter holder in the rear part of the lens barrel, which can be rotated to facilitate the use of filters, including a polarizing filter. 5The SIGMONSTER
By Michael A. Hays
This is an awesome lens and is a real must-have for birdwatching and other nature photography. The zoom range is extremely flexible and the f-stop reasonably fast, but keep in mind that this is a very, very specialized lens. First of all, yes, it is gigantic! This is not something you'll be carrying around day-to-day. It can be very challenging to get sharp pictures at focal lengths beyond 400mm or so. You MUST MUST MUST use a sturdy, high-end tripod and gimbal head. This will also preclude the "downward fall" described in another review. The lens alone is very heavy, and once you toss in a sturdy tripod you're talking 25+ pounds of equipment at a minimum; this is really going to limit your mobility and affect the way you shoot. It takes a lot of forethought to use this lens, but I prefer to think of that as an advantage. When used properly, this lens has fantastic image quality -- very sharp, excellent contrast. When I say sharp, I am talking L-series sharp, even wide open. The HSM focus speed is fast, perhaps slightly slower than Canon's USM but not appreciably so. The only thing it's really missing is image stabilization (or optical stabilization, as Sigma calls it), which would really help out on those long shots. This is a minor limitation, though, to a great lens. If you have the discipline to learn how to use this lens properly (and if you can afford it!), you'll reap some great rewards.

5Perfect Lens In The Super Telephoto Zoom Range
By Gary Mayo
First off, this lens is no toy. It is a serious tool. One of the reviews here is not taking into account the persons ability to know how to use a lens like this. If you do not know how to use the lens, the lens can be no better than the photographer. This lens requires support. That can be in the form of a heavy tripod and gimbal head, or it can be in the form of bean bags. Bags over the lens and well as under it.A 800mm lens can see the effects of a 3 mph wind going gently by. Would not doubt it would see the effects of a bug landing on it. This lens needs substantial support. It could also benefit from mirror lock up, and a remote shutter, or a delayed timer. If you are not going to take the time to learn how to use it, and then take the time to set it up, do not bother getting this lens. It will do you no good at all. Stick with the kit lens that came with your camera. However, if you are a pro, this is a serious pro lens. It will knock your socks off! No other lens on the planet will do what this lens will do. 300-800mm Zoom in a constant f/1:5.6. Simply a dream lens!As for that other reviewer, enjoy your kit lenses.

5Perfection!!
By Jonathan Smithers
I have been using the Canon version of this lens & it is sharp wide open!! No stop down required unless you need DOF! Focus is fast & accurate. The first thing I did was do a true test of it's sharpness wide open & it's sharp. It does take some practice & wow it is not soft at 300 or 800mm in anyway. I use it with a Manfrotto Wilderness Tripod mounted to a Jobu J3 3 Gimbal kit ..... absolutely perfect. On the Jr 3 I Had to remove the drop down & mount the RRS quick release direct. I have been shooting warblers, chickadees, junkos, eagles & pileated woodpeckers. Sometimes I have to back off down to 500mm to frame a bird right .... try that with a 600-800mm prime. Also do video with an EF 2x II converter attached & still tack sharp! Had this lens for 7 months now & it will have to be pryed from my cold dead hands! I carry it attached to the tripod over the shoulder. I bought this lens used & use it with my 7D. I also use a Sigma 120-300mm OS .... another superb sharp lens!Cheers, JonPileated video with 7D & Sigmonster. Do a search on YouTube for it : )[...]

A distance scale on the focus ring is an easy to use and convenient addition * This lens is designed specifically for use with the majority of digital SLR cameras featuring the smaller image sensors. Digital SLRs containing an image sensor larger than APS-C format and 35mm or APS SLR film cameras should not be used or image cut-off or vignetting will occur.

5Very satisfied!
By Hernan E. Enriquez
This lens is very sharp from one end to the other, having taken baby portraits to flying birds and aircraft, it produces great color and it focuses quickly. I was so happy with the Sigma quality that now I have two other Sigma lenses!

5Great lens for Price
By Michael Rosenberg
The Sigma 300 F2.8 lens for Sony/Minolta is a great lens for the price. I could not afford The Sony/Minolta equivalent as it was over twice the price. The color, contrast and resolution of this lens is excellent and works great with 1.4 and 2.0 Sigma teleconverters. It also works great with the in-camera image stabilization on the Sony DSLR cameras.

4Good alternative
By S. Pettis
I wanted more reach for wildlife photography wanted so I settled on the this lens for use with my Nikon D90. I find it to be sharp even with the 2X teleconverter. I use it with a monopod mostly except for birds in flight. It is heavy and the only monopod head I could find to handle it is the one from Really Right Stuff. The build quality looks to be excellent. If they ever made a stabilized version, which they will one day, the big boys will be hurtin'.

5Fantastic lens, worth every penny
By D. Kittle
I could not afford Nikon's VR 300mm lens so I picked this one up instead. I've routinely shot with Sigma's 1.4x Teleconverter and 2.0x TC attached and have gotten brilliant results. The lens is more than sharp enough wide open, even with the 2x TC on it. I often photograph birds and there is plenty of detail in the photos. This lens is simply brilliant.
