This is better than what I've been using!

We thought we should be good to nature and give up some performance moving to an environmentally safe laundry powder. We have four kids and often do two loads a day, so making this change will mean a lot less mess from our waste water. Out went Tide and in went Bi-O-Kleen. The first thing we noticed was the fresh natural scent, not the pungent detergent scent from the major brands. I then noticed how little we had to use, how one box does 54 loads. Nice! And then old stains started to dissapear from our clothing. Old, kind of faded grease stains was gone! Also, dulled fabrics seemed to brighten up, but we are not sure if that's only our happines with the product rubbing off on the laundry.We have been using this now for a while and we will never go back to the "old school powders". because not only is this good for nature, it's a better laundry powder alltogether!

Two thumbs up for Bi-O-Kleen

My son has skin allergies and I have to be very careful what types of products I buy that will touch his skin. In the last few years I have tried so many different laundry products and had a hard time finding something that worked for him and on my budget. Then I came across Bi-O-Kleen and decided to give it a try. I'm sure glad I did because not only does one box go a lloonngg way but my son doesn't break out in hives and his eczema cleared up.

The best soap I have ever used!!!

I can't believe how well this cleaned my clothes and how soft they are!!! I have tried all the natural laundry soaps and this is by far the best. I did not pre-treat any stains and all came out spotless and very soft. I also have a whole house chloramine/chlorine filter along with a water softener and had the same when using all the other products. The Charlies Soap made my clothes scratchy and the other products (7th Gen & Ecover...)never got the stains out or my husbands smelly workout clothes smelling fresh. I used one scoop (2TB)for a large load in my front loader.

Great bleach for sensitive skin and alleries.

I've used this Bi-O-Kleen product for a couple of years for all my clothes and bedding. Having allergies and skin sensitive to harsh detergents and bleach, I find this bleach cleans well (of course, it's not Clorax) and it is easy on my skin and nose! I also use Bi-O-Kleen's laundry and can recommend it, too.

Good product; painful packaging

We have used every kind of laundry bleach on the market over the years, from liquid perchlorite (Clorox) to many variants of color-safe ("oxygen") bleaches, both those based on sodium percarbonate (like Biokleen Oxygen Plus) and those based on sodium perborate. After giving all of those fair trials, we have been using Biokleen Oxygen Plus Bleach for many years; obviously we were and are satisfied with its performance, and our expectation is that we will continue to use it until something better comes along.However, the packaging is a pain ... literally. The plastic cylindrical container that Biokleen puts the bleach into has an opening at the top that is too small for an adult hand to reach into to scoop out the bleach. (Biokleen uses the same size and shape container for its powder dishwasher detergent.) And the top of the cylinder has a very sharp inward-turned lip that sooner or later (probably sooner) will leave you with a bleeding scrape on the knuckle of one or more fingers as you try to reach the scoop into the container. What you are going to end up doing, then, is to place the measuring scoop on top of the washing machine and to pour, or attempt to pour, the bleach into the scoop. But then that inward-facing lip comes into play again to guarantee that the bleach will not pour smoothly, and you end up with bleach on the top of the washing machine. The package is just a very bad design; the only thing good to say about it is that it can be placed on a damp surface and the moisture will not seep through the bottom as it will with cardboard-packaged bleaches.The consistency of Biokleen Oxygen Plus Bleach is similar to granulated sugar, but the particle size apparently is not uniform, because when pouring the bleach from the container into the scoop, we experience momentary nasal irritation, which indicates that invisible fines of the product are getting entrained into the air and inhaled; we cannot see the fines, but we can feel them in our nostrils.With better packaging, this would comfortably rate as a 5-star product; with the present packaging, I can give it no more than 3 stars.

Superb on pet stains

I love Biokleen products and find they all work well. For folks who live in the country and have a septic system, less toxic products are certainly the way to go. Last time we had the system pumped, the technician asked what we did to keep our system so healthy. People who use bleach or harsh chemicals kill all the enzymes which is not good for their system. The incident that prompted me to write this review was last week when one of my dogs had super disgusting diarrhea on the carpet and I had no hope of getting it clean. I used the Biokleen Bleach Plus full strength, let it sit 5 minutes, then shampooed the carpet with my low-tech home unit. I was amazed! Clean carpet! I highly recommend Biokleen.

A product that I recommend to everyone

I have been using biokleen products for several years now and I rave about this particular product to everyone that I know. It feel that it does wash off all of the grime, the wax coating on many fruits, plus other stuff (who knows what pesticides really look like), like it says it should. We try to go organic whenever we can. Unfortunately, we live in an area where getting organic produce is not always easy, so I feel that using a product such as biokleen's produce is even more important, esp with non-organic produce. My husband did not really believe in the product until he saw how gross the biokleen solution looked after I soaked some grapes that I bought at the grocery store in it. Never had the water looked like that when we just washed the grapes in plain water. So, I believe that plain water does not adequately clean produce.Anyway, I bought a case of this, because our family eats a lot of fresh produce, so we use lots of produce wash AND I put together, "green" gift bags as Christmas gifts for family members this year with my favorite green and environmentally friendly products. This was one of the items I knew right away that I wanted to include into the gift bags. Also, from my experience very few places will ship biokleen products for free since they are heavy items, so I felt that amazon's price (with free shipping) makes this a very reasonable price.

Great and non toxic - UPDATED 11/09

My family has been using this for several years and we like it very much. We leave a large glass bowl full of the solution on the kitchen counter and use when needed.When the soultion looks dirty or after several days we toss it and renew. GREAT product.....I would like to add an update to this product. Lately I have been dealing with some kind of greasy residue in a hydroponic food growing system that bought. You can't just clean that with anything because any reside could kill or damage your plants.I took the system apart, cleaned it with this product, rinsed well and it cleaned the grease right off. I then restarted my process of reseeding and growing and my plants are thriving! WOW that is no easy feat. This is a superb product in my opinion and if it works on grease and does not harm sensitive seedlings I call that a win -win product. Hope that helps somebody...

I loved it before the ingredients changed, but now, not so much.

I have been very happy with Biokleen Produce Wash because it cleans all things very well using the safe ingredients, Lime extracts, grapefruit seen and pulp extracts, coconut, cold pressed orange oil and filtered water. However, the new bottle I ordered has different ingredients, including Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which I always avoid because it's listed as a carcinogen and I certainly don't want it on my fruit and vegetables. Why would they ruin a good thing?

Best product around for eliminating animal urine odor!

I have an elderly cat with bladder problems. I wanted to eliminate the urine odor and not eliminate the cat. Bac-Out was recommended to me at the health food store and I was amazed at the results! In the past I used a white vinegar/water solution, but Bac-Out works even better. I have used it on carpet (no stains!) and bedding with excellent results.I have also used Bac-Out to wipe down walls and it eliminated "smoker smell" from an apartment I moved into. I buy it in bulk and use it often. I love this product so much, I've even shared it with friends.

Best stain & odor product for cloth diapers

This is the best product I've found to remove stains and odors from cloth diapers. You can imagine the types of stains and odors I mean!I also use this product regularly for food spills, grass/dirt and blood on fabrics. It works very well, doesn't leave any perfume-y smells of its own, and doesn't give me or my son any skin or other allergic reactions. I am very sensitive to chemicals and perfumes, so this product should be safe for most other people to use as well.I've had to buy this product in only a 16 oz size at my local "natural" grocery store, and this price is MUCH better. For diapering, a 32 oz bottle should last about one month if, like me, you apply this product to every dirty diaper before putting it in the laundry pail.

Safe and effective stain remover

We recently switched laundry and household products out for brands that are safer from a health perspective and also environmentally safer. We tried multiple brands of products that fit this criteria and found both the laundry detergent and the stain remover from Biokleen to work well in terms of cleaning and removing stains. Their products also have a pleasant and relatively light smell. We also like Method products. In comparison, they both work equally well for their intended task, but the Biokleen products have a lighter smell (unless you are comparing against Method's Free and Clear, which has no fragrance). Nice products overall! This review is 100% independent and non-compensated for in any way.

I was surprised how well this worked! Now it's my favorite.

I use mostly earth friendly cleaning products in the house, and I was glad to stumble across this product. Not only is it less expensive that regular dishwasher cleaners, it works just as well if not better than them.The packaging seemed incredibly small, about the size of a 7-11 Big Gulp cup, so I quickly poured a canister into an empty cup and brought out my Cuisinart measuring tablespoon and found that there were in fact 59 loads worth of powder (at 1 tablespoon per load), although the tared weight on the powder did exceed 2 lbs by a couple of ounces. That is not really a big deal to me, and if you're using a flatware tablespoon you'll probably get a bit more than 64 loads out of the canister.I purposely left a dinner plate overnight with dried on cheese and a knife with peanut butter residue on it so I could test the effectiveness of this product. When they were loaded into the dishwasher with a full load this powder managed to clean the dishes spotless without using any added heat or prewashing like I normally would with a standard cleaner.I have so far washed a few loads with this powder and every dish has come out clean except for one bowl still had one spot of dried on chili.The canister says that if you have hard water you will need 2 tablespoons, and 1 tablespoon for soft water, and I imagine you could adjust those to get it to work just perfect for you.Best of all, this product is Made in the USA, and it's not tested on animals and it has no animal ingredients. The plastic canister can be recycled when you are done, and it claims to have no negative effects on rivers, streams, plants, or wildlife. It has no artificial fragrance, colors, or preservatives, and it's biodegradable and Ozone safe. The Grapefruit seed and Orange Peel extracts in this product are pleasant and not overwhelming to me at all.The only thing I would recommend to Biokleen is that they sell a cleaning products package consisting of a 2 month supply of this product along with laundry detergent, general purpose cleaner, and window cleaner, plus any other best-selling cleaners they have. Most people do not want to order a 2 year supply of this at a time, and I have to admit that is what prevented me from ordering this sooner. I wrote to them a couple of months ago suggesting this, but I have yet to see this offered at Amazon.

WORKS GREAT & MADE IN THE USA

Very effective at cleaning dishes. Only takes 1 Tablespoon to wash entire load with no residues or spots. If residue is left on the dishes reduce the amount of cleaner and this will solve the problem. I like the fact that it's MADE IN THE USA & has environmental benefits. The smell is quite nice, but I like citrus smells. I've found this item cheaper at other online sites when it's on sale. If it's not on sale elsewhere Amazons price w/free shipping is the best. I'd like to see it offered in 6 pack cases as 12 containers should last anywhere from 12 to 24 months depending on how many loads you wash per day. Not sure about shelf life of storing the containers that long. Plastic container is nice because it can be recycled and doesn't allow moisture to enter as has happened with cardboard containers. I also use Ecover & think that both products clean the same but I prefer the Made in America brand given all the recent problems with products made overseas.

Great Little Fire pit

This is our second unit. The first one lasted outside, used at least 75 times a year for 7 years. This is a very sturdy, safe fire pit. The bowl is high enough off the deck that we have used a bbq mat from Ace hardware and the deck does not even get warm to the touch underneath. The opening screen is the only way to go, it makes loading safe ( no hot screen swinging around ), and easy. We just bought the new one because the copper stared to get a little thiner than I liked, and the steel grate was warped after some rather large fires. Good Stuff, very happy with this unit.

I'll have to disagree

First of all, I will admit that this is my very first firepit, so keep that in mind when considering my review. I decided to purchase this product for several reasons: 1. Based on the 5 5-star reviews here at Amazon 2. I wanted a copper pit for some aesthetic reasons 3. I thought the idea of a swiveling screen was nice. Okay, the pit works, first of all. However, we are using it on a wooden deck and I can promise you that you will need to place something under it to protect the deck from heat. I went to Lowe's and purchased 4 16" porcelain floor tiles to make a big square under it, and then right in the middle, I placed a 14" square 2" think concrete paver. That, or something similar, is what you will need to protect your wooden deck from heat. Now, I do not feel that I got nearly $150 worth of product in this pit! I wish I had shopped at Lowes or Home Depot first because they have some really nice looking pits for $160 down to $130. One they had was inset inside a square 'table' where you could prop your feet up on to get your toes 'toasty' warm. My biggest complaint with this product, however, is the screen. The screen mesh is too coarse to catch anything but the biggest of flying embers. But, it is very flimsy in construction and the least bump around the bottom ring will warp it (mine came out of round out of the box) and then it won't 'fit' on the inner ledge of the fire pit properly. After a couple of tries, we decided it wasn't even worth using and have cast it to the side! Well, there goes one main reason for choosing this pit. My advice is don't be totally taken in by the photos and favorable reviews because this pit is worth $100 at most.

A great screen for the price

I bought the Draper Luma 106" screen in Hi-Def. grey HD format. I compared many other screens before purchasing, including Optoma, Elite, Vutec, Ultra and Da-Lite. My criteria were limited to 106" to 115" HDTV format, manual operation (to limit the cost) and a gray screen (because of high ambient light) in my home theater environment. I'm using an Optoma HD70 projector (720p).Yes, the screen does stink for several weeks. I was furtunate to have some good weather shortly after I installed it and I just left it down with the windows open to ventilate the room.The screen is well made and operates smoothly, always catching in the same place to precisely position it in front of the projected image. Retraction is equally smooth and consistent. I have it suspended on small brackets 6" away from my wall.I had been projecting on the bare wall before buying the screen and was having a lot of difficulty balancing contrast and brightness, primarily during daytime viewing. The grey screen definitely helps with this problem and the colors appear more warm and balanced compared to the off-white wall.The screen hangs mostly flat but I can just make out a slight ripple on the left side. It's barely noticeable while viewing unless the image on that side of the screen is a uniform color. That being said, a tab tensioned screen was out of my budget so overall I am very pleased.

Very satisfied

I was looking for a 106" matte-white manual pulldown screen. I don't have a lot to compare it to, I guess, but I am thrilled with the Draper Luma. It's paired with my Optoma HD20 and everything looks great. I almost didn't buy it because what the reviews said about the screen smelling... The smell is mild; I would compare it to a fresh coat of paint.
