3Better tools available
By Thomas Gibson
I read in a number of places after I got this tool that there are better wheel hoes available. Elliot Coleman for one recommends one that fits the description of the Glaser Wheel Hoe exactly. First of all because of the way the tools mount on this one it does an inefficient job of transfering the energy to the soil. The tools that come with it are very light weight and the range of tools available isn't as great as with other manufacturers. This is more of a replica of an antique although it gets some basic jobs done. The fact that it doesn't have any of the improvements made in tools like this from other manufacturers mean that you have to do a lot of things twice or more to get the job done. I got the wood handled version which I was glad of because it is stronger and heavier. The handles unfortunately were completely raw wood so I had to buy some primer just to feel good about taking this out for the first time. Some of the hardware used to attach tools was weak and bent the first time it was used and the instructions how to assemble the tool were useless. The box was ripped when I got it because the packaging is shoody and I felt lucky that some of the small part bags didn't get lost during shipping. The wheel axle is just a piece of pipe that runs on a piece of round stock. Since that fitting is rather sloppy it makes it easier for the wheel hoe to not track as straight as it might and cause several course corrections when doing a pass down a row.The fact that this is the only wheel hoe available on Amazon.com is unfortunate. I thought I was getting a great deal when I used a $50 Amazon gift card to get this tool and now I am thinking I only got what I personally paid for. I am able to do most of what I wanted to do with this tool but wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for a wheel hoe.

5Best Manual Coltivator
By FrankF
Earthway 6500W High Wheel Garden Cultivator with 24-Inch Steel Wheel and Wood Handle. This cultivator is a manual tool that requires very little maintenance, and maximizes garden productivity. It can easily go down and create rows for tilling, planting and weeding. It's NOT TOO LONG to use on shorter rows and turns easily compared to the longer handled Glaser Wheel Hoe ($383.00). I began using this design 34 years ago and it out performs a gas powered tiller in small plots. The unit ships flat (unassembled), contains all hardware for assembly and include 1 Reversible Plow, a half-furrow plow, and a cultivator tine (5 tines). The Earthway 6500 models can be ordered in either tubular steel (6500) or hardwood handles (6500W). The hardwood handles are very sturdy. The hardwood unit is sturdier than the tubular steel model. It feels more solid, all accessories mount in a 3 inch slot in a frame section just behind the wheel. The items that ship with the cultivator are good quality and sturdy. The very best accessory for this unit is the "slicing hoe" - it is a huge time and back saver. The slicing hoe can cut weeds in forward or reverse operation, cutting the weeds just below the surface of the soil. I can cut down young alfalfa plants, Johnson grass, puncture weeds, and hemlock, with care I can get weeds directly next to my row vegetables. As of this writing Amazon does not carry the slicing hoe so here is the link to the best source (this is a must have tool) [...] $18.99 - shipping was the most reasonable. The Earthway slicing hoe doesn't come loose, or slide around, which makes it easier to control the hoe without harming any friendly plants. Try the cultivator, then put the slicing hoe on - you will love it! The hardwood unit is superior to the tubular steel.I would give this tool 6 stars, but Earthway needs to include the slicing hoe - it is the most important accessory.I recommend the use of Loctite during assembly Henkel 01-24200 Loctite 6-ml Threadlocker 242

5Earthway High Wheel Garden Cultivator with 24-Inch Steel Wheel and Wood Handle #6500W
By Jeffrey A. Douglass
The shipping box was torn, but all the parts where in the box. It was easy to build once I related the parts to the picture. The cultivator functions as described. It quickly removes small weeds, turns the soft earth and I get the exercise my doctor recommends. I am satisfied with this product.

Where Can I Buy Pro Co You Dirty Rat Distortion Pedal

Pro Co You Dirty Rat Distortion PedalBuy Pro Co You Dirty Rat Distortion Pedal

Pro Co You Dirty Rat Distortion Pedal Product Description:

  • Think 60's garage rock and early punk
  • Perfect middle ground between distortion and fuzz
  • Provide more "tube amp warmth" and extra sustain
  • Any excuse even abuse warranty

Product Description

The Pro Co You Dirty Rat, think early punk. Think about the bands that changed the sound of rock n' roll. The You Dirty Rat combines the sound of the garage with the spirit of inovation. The key to the You Dirty RAT is the germanium clipping diodes. Any pedal aficionado will tell you that nothing compares to the warm tone that these sought after components provide. This pedal is the perfect middle ground between distortion and fuzz, combining the characteristic RAT tone with the warmth of a classic fuzztone. The You Dirty RAT also provides 3db more compression than the original RAT. This not only provides more "tube amp warmth", but adds extra sustain. Distortion and Volume controls dial in the perfect amount of gain while keeping the level consistent with your clean tone. While there is no mistaking hte legendary RAT tone when the pedal is on, true bypass switching guarantees that no extra noise will creap into your signal when it's turned off.

5Awesome Sound... Made in the USA!
By Erik
This pedal sounds great and is extremely versatile. From mild distortion to full blown distorfuzz! It never sounds harsh, or phartty, or icepicky, etc. I love it through my Fender '65 Twin Reverb® Amplifier, Black tube amp; I love it through my ZT Lunchbox 200-watt 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amplifier SS amp.If you are considering the Pro Co RAT2 Distortion Pedal, just spend the extra ten or so bucks and get this one instead. I think this one sounds better (a subjective observation), but this one is made in the USA. It is very high quality. The enclosure seems a little bit dated, compared to the boutique pedals available today. But it feels like it will outlast every BOSS pedal there. If you plan to use a power supply, be warned that it takes a 9-Volt tip positive 1/8" mini plug (like a mono headphone plug) power supply, like the Pro Co RPS-1 RAT Battery Eliminator Power Supply, instead of the more common tip-negative coaxial plug (found on BOSS pedals, Boss PSA-120S Power Adapter, etc). But the maximum current draw is only 2 mA, so 9V battery should last a long time!Buy it... Rock it!

5A versatile little dirt box with great tone
By Michael Coffin
Although ProCo promotes this for its 90's grunge sound, it's much more than that. Dial down the Distortion knob, dial Filter up to 2 o'clock and you get Jeff Beck and John Scofield tones from it. Turn Distortion up to 4 o'clock for thick early Sabbath, and as you dial back on Filter, the tone gets sharper for 80's rock tones. It has been fun seeing how many signatures tones it can produce.Sounds great with my Fender and Marshall amps, using SC or HB pickups. My trusty Monte Allums-modded Blues Driver sounds awful next to this. If you're looking for a versatile dirt box that sounds great and is affordable, you can't go wrong with this one.

5Rocks balls indeed!
By CHUS01 Fan
I can't really say it any better. Sound quality is great. Distortion knob takes you from edge of distortion, to distortion, to fuzzy compressed mayhem. Today I played some Dick Dale, Offspring, Nirvana with it. No, it doesn't sound exactly like anything, but it has a perfect blend of sweetness, power, and trashiness that has me smiling like an idiot. The enclosure is thick steel, folded on what must be a gigantic metal-folding machine and put together in a sort of interlocking design. Very strong and overbuilt, though it has narrow gaps that dust or liquid could possibly get in. The battery door has a thumb screw. No tools needed to change batteries, and I've been running it weeks on the same battery so far. It has a nice calm red LED, stage-ready.

3OK for HT, poor for music
By James Lee
Having heard this sub while back, I have to agree with the first reviewer. It's acceptable for HT use, but poor for music; regardless of their nonsense about dynamic power.Although, movies may get away with "large, short-term peaks of power", many music will demand nearly constant, power. In virtually all movies, special effects and sound tracks last only a few seconds; all most all of it is a dialog between the actors. Certainly, there is no bass in dialogs. Music is different. I mean, how often do you hear a couple note of bass, followed by few more notes several minutes later?I'm not sure where some of the reviewers get their information, but there is no such thing as a "crisp & sharp" bass. Crisp & sharp implies, fast rise time, which means there are significant higher harmonic(high frequency) contents in the sound. Anyone who understand the concept of harmonics and Fourier series should understand this. The "crisp & sharp" part of the "bass" comes from the satellites. The most common reason why some bass sounds muddy/boomy is because of poor integration between the satellites and the sub or due to the standing waves caused by the sub-room interaction.I also don't get how anyone can get "imaging" from a mono sub. Even if you use two subs, low frequency sounds are difficult to localize. This is the very reason why you can place the subs significant distance from the satellites. The rattling of the object in the room has EVERYTHING to do with the bass, regardless of the distortion. Obviously, the reviewer has never experienced the room pressurized by two 15" subs driven by 1000+ watt pro-audio amplifier. You can barely hear it, but you will definitely feel it. If you have never heard/felt a real sub, then you really don't have a good reference point to judge the other subs. All you can do is note the significant improvement KSW-12 made over the original 8-inch "sub".That being said, the KSW-12's low end of the frequency response is bit lacking for an "almost-high end sub". It seemed to struggle with the loud rap, as well as the classical music. For movies, it wasn't as bad. It handled most action scenes well, but combat scenes with exaggerated explosions, the sub clearly ran out of gas.Objectively, the specs are some what misleading. Why would anyone spec the subs at 1/8-space? I've seen half and 1/4-space specs, but 1/8-space? Also, how dynamic is the "dynamic power"? This sounds too much like my plastic 2" 100 watt(PMPO) multimedia speakers I had back in college. In short, KSW-12 has respectable volume, but is unsuitable for continuous music with significant bass content. It also doesn't have the low end impact. It's spec are completely unrealistic and you won't get anything near the listed spec in a typical living/family room playing music, or movies with heavy action sequences. In the end, it's only a bit better than a typical consumer level 12" sub.

5Great Sound for Home Theater
By Online Shopping Guru
I see some of the ratings talking about the music sound quality compared to less expensive units.First of all, read the title of the item. It says Home Theater. I love the thundering response on this unit when I'm watching movies.Second, once you get the settings right on the subwoofer and your amplifier, the sound it great for music too.

4Great results, but not always necessary
By Vivek Gupta
In my home I have every room (and sometimes multiple connections per room) wired for ethernet as that allows for a faster home network than available with wi-fi. This is great for speed, however becomes very messy in the basement where all the wires come together. The same goes for telephone and cable wires. This is where a structured media enclosure such as this one: Leviton 47605-28W SMC Structured Media Enclosure with Cover, 28-Inch, White and the patch panel: Leviton 476TM-512 Twist and Mount Patch Panel, 12 CAT 5e Ports come in handy. The enclosure let's you run all of the wires into it through holes (there are multiple holes at the top that can be knocked out) then you wire each of the ethernet cables into the patch panel. This let's you make it easy to identify which connections go to a given room and then short ethernet cables would go from the patch panel to your router.Additional modules are available from Leviton for providing power to the enclosure as well so that the routers could be mounted inside (though if you had a wi-fi router, you probably wouldn't want to enclose it in a metal box). In addition you'd probably want to purchase a roll of ethernet cable and a tool kit like this: DataShark 70016 Network Bundle with Universal Stripper, All-in-One Data/Phone Tool, Non-Impact 110 Punchdown tool, and 10 RJ11 Plugs, to help you punch down the wires into the back of the patch panel (as the small plastic punchdown tool that comes with the panel is okay for a few times, but gets uncomfortable after a while). With the tools and your own roll of wire you can make short lengths that you need relatively cheaply. What's the drawback to all of this? Price! If you have 15+ or more ethernet connections, lots of cable wires and phone lines, this can start to look ugly pretty quickly and a setup like this can help make it neater. Buying it after a house is constructed can make it feel pretty expensive, so if this can be included during the construction of a home or an office space it is probably the ideal time. If all you have are 5-10 ethernet wires, this is probably overkill. Get the Data Shark tool put ends on each of your wires and plug them directly into a router. To help you correctly label the wires (both in the case of the structured panel and the straight to the router case) get a cable tester like this: TRENDnet Cable Tester 10/100 COAX and TP ( TC-NT2 ) and a labeler and label each of the wires. Going the route of directly plugging into a router doesn't mean that everything has to look ugly, you can still put it in an enclosure, tie-downs can be used to run the wire neatly and the routers can be mounted on the wall.If you are getting an installation done in new construction or are putting in wiring for the first time (self or professional) and I haven't scared you off with the variety of tools that can help, then I would recommend getting setup with a structured media panel since it makes it easier to keep things organized and neat. The ones from Leviton are well built and I've been using components from them for a decade without any hassles or problems.

2Better options exist
By adamjb
As a professional installer, if you have enough wiring to justify getting one of these boxes (or if you just want to have neater cables and equipment), do yourself a favor and get a 19" wall-mount equipment rack instead. I install structured wiring in homes, and in most cases, if you have room for an in-wall enclosure, you have room for a small rack. Racks come in lots of sizes in both height and depth (search amazon for "wall mount rack") to fit anyone's needs. In my experience, racks *always* make for neater and easier to maintain wiring. Structured media enclosures, no matter the manufacturer or size, just don't give you enough room. Installers can do a good job of making these boxes *look* neat, but that only lasts until your first upgrade. In my experience, these boxes *always* end up a mess.It also doesn't help that the modules made for these boxes--such as cable splitters, Ethernet switches, and telephone distribution blocks--are usually overpriced, have a limited number of ports, and are incompatible (mounting-wise) between manufacturers. A Leviton module can't be easily mounted in an On-Q box (or vice versa).19" racks are a standard size, and it's easy to find equipment and hardware that can be mounted in them. Manufacturer doesn't matter. Here's how I recommend that you (or your installer) set up your structured wiring closet:Paint a large piece of 3/4" plywood to match your wall color and then mount it to the wall. Buy a rack and mount it to the plywood. Mount a long power strip vertically next to the rack. If your home has Ethernet, get a rack-mount patch panel to terminate your ethernet, a rack-mount gigabit Ethernet switch, and some Ethernet patch cables. Get a rack-mount shelf for your router (shelves come in different depths and heights. Make sure that the shelf you buy fits your rack). If you have centralized coax, get an 8-port amplified cable TV signal splitter if you have cable, or an 8-port satellite signal splitter if you have satellite. Mount this to your plywood backing. If you have centralized phone, get a 66 block and mount it to the plywood backing. If you ran your phone over cat5e (and if all of your jacks are rj-45), you can make a nice phone distribution system using a second patch panel like the one linked above. This gives you the added flexibility of very easily deciding which ports in your home should be Ethernet, and which should be phone, and also allows you to change your mind later. Finally, get some Velcro fastening tape to neaten up your wires. Don't use zip-ties, as they make any future re-wires or changes difficult, and can damage your cables if over-tightened.A rack may seem like overkill, but trust me, you will be saving yourself a lot of pain down the line.I give this box two stars, because if you are truly pressed for space, and your wiring is in a visible location, these boxes are better than nothing. Otherwise, a plain sheet of plywood might be a better choice. There is a decent selection of add-on modules, and the box itself is of decent construction.

4For new construction only
By Mark Taylor
This is a beefy enclosure for home networking base stations, like modems, routers, and phone distribution centers. It has punch outs for multiple lines in/out.In newer houses (post 1970) it will fit nicely between a pair of studs 16 inches on center studs (which have an insides space of about 14.5 inches. The spec in the product description are incomplete:- The Exterior Measurements on the Box are 14.3125 inches Wide and 3.75 inches deep and 28.25 inches high.- The Interior Measurements inside the Box are .125 inches less all around.- Door is 15.625 wide and 29.5 high, is has holes to screw it into the box and you don't have to unscrew the panel to get it off, you just lift up and pull forward. For the price, I would like to have seen a hinge on the door, rather than just screws.
