Once the player is loaded with music (it supports MP3, WMA, and OGG music files), you can navigate through your favorite selections via the vivid color display, which lists the track name, artist info, and time remaining. Also along for the ride is an integrated FM tuner that not only plays NPR, music stations, and other programming, but also offers a recording option should you want to catch "Car Talk" at a later time. Best of all, the T10 is completely skip-free, so you won't suffer any interruptions during a tough jog or weightlifting session.

5Pretty Good Mp3 Player
By R. Leary
Earlyer I had a iPod Nano, it was good but it broke. So not a lot of mp3 players are better than iPod since everyone knows what those are and they have a good reputation. So I was looking for something cheap. I saw the iRiver T10 512MB mp3 player and I liked the way it looked. I have to say the picture makes the color look dark red but no its light red, not pink. I Also read all of the customer reviews for this product and the 1 GB T10 as well. Nothing about this mp3 player is bad. People said it hard or confusing about using it or getting it set up on the computer, I sure dont think so and i'm only 14 years old so if I can set it up and use it easly then you can too.Features: A-B repeat, Press the record button and you can save songs that you dont own from the radio thats in the mp3 player to the mp3 player or you can record your own voice when you speak into a microphone thats also built in, It tells time, Locks so it never turns on accidentily, and its got tons of things that you can make your mp3 player personalized the way you want it.Pros: Good sound quality, Long battery life, Easy to use and set up if you have windows xp and windows media player 10 which I had when I first got this mp3 player so I had no troble, Cool background and color, and the thickness is a little bulky but I like it and I think the color and style is cool.Cons: It has this cross fadeing thing that when you pause it and turn it on again it starts off quiet and then loud to the volume setting you have it at its a little annoying but I can live with it. and when the backlight turns off you cant see anything and I can Live with that, I guess you can set the backlight timer to always on. And those are only little problems so this mp3 player is all good.Drop Test: Ive droped it (accidently) from about 3 feet at 2 different times and no scraches or problems. So thats all, its a pretty good 512MB mp3 player.

5Awesome MP3 Player
By David Tucker
I had never owned an MP3 player before the last 2 weeks. I got a couple giftcards though and decided that I needed another new toy to play with, so I looked at MP3 players. After briefly using an RCA Lyra, I took it back when I found out it didn't work with JANUS and it's FM tuner was weak at best. Then I took a look at the iRivers on the suggestion of some various people and I have not been disappointed.Pros : Excellent battery life (50 hours), FM tuner, great sound, easy to use controls, what I think is an attractive design, light but sturdy, compatible with subscription music, and a great color screenCons : A little expensive for the memory it hasAs I don't have a lot of music, FM tuners and subscription music are the only way I would get any value out of an MP3 player and it's really great that I can have both of these features in a player that is a really high end device from a respected company. If it's in your budget, get the 1 GB model of the T10 but otherwise, this one won't disappoint you at all. (Well, unless you try and use the included ear buds. I didn't even try putting them in my ears.)

4Good overall. Difficulties upgrading firmware
By A. Lattke
Pros: Excellent sound quality. Color screen. Intuitive interface. Recording from radio. Built in microphone.Cons: No armband included. With battery, actually feels a little heavy (but not too bad). FW was a pain in the butt to upgrade. Headphones have good sound, but are uncomfortable. This player comes with firmware 1.04 out of the box. You can use the player in one of two modes: UMS or MTP. UMS stands for Universal Mass Storage; you can plug your player into the USB port of your computer and it shows up as a drive. Then you just drag and drop files into the player, and best of all, you can hook it up to any computer (but you can only upgrade firmware with Windows XP). MTP (I think stands for Media Transport Protocol) is the other mode, and via MTP you can have Windows Media Player manage your music collection and sync up with the player.Personally, I like UMS. It's easy to just drag and drop.So now, my gripe about the firmware update... When I get a new player, the first thing I do is go to the website and upgrade to latest firmware. I tried doing that, but the latest firmware (v1.70) does not upgrade directly from v1.04. After writing to tech support at iRiver, tier1 support sent me to the same upgrade link that I had already been to. This was aggravating. I responded letting them know that that didn't solve my problem. Then they sent me email with a support phone number. I called the number, (and here's the good part) the person on the other end of the line actually spoke English without an accent. She helped me step by step, very accurately with my problem. It turned out I had to upgrade to v1.54 before I could go to v1.70 (but this is not documented anywhere where the public could see it because it's a new problem).I am now happy with this player. The sound quality is one notch above the iPod players (iRiver's sound quality has always impressed me). It used to be that their interface was clunky. Even though they have similar controls as the older players, they are a lot more intuitive.

5Second best shower I have ever had.
By S. Donaldson
After much contemplation I finally bought this and the companion 1724-74 to install in my shower at home. I did the work myself which took a little longer than I expected and had a few more trips to the hardware store, but I am quite satisfied with the accomplishment. This installed very easily. I would encourage you to read the installation manual, if you are doing this, rather than just assuming you know how to install a faucet. You have the ability to configure it for hot/cold on coming ni either side which was a nice feature. It was very easy to get the scald guard adjusted right for me, contrary to a previous review. It is certainly more complicated than a faucet that just has individual on/off valves for the hot and cold line. But you can adjust the stop for the scald guard with a screwdriver and repositioning it in about 2 minutes. The fact that it adjusts to manage the temperature makes for the fastest shower-up-to-temp time I have experienced. In the mornings, I just turn it on, wait and the shower is up to temp much faster than I am used to. I think the reason is that the faucet automatically goes full-hot until it starts getting hot water and then manages the hot/cold flow to keep the temperature stable. My previous shower faucet required continuous adjustement for the first several minutes of a shower. The only down side is that I put two of these in the same shower, so the water comes at you from both sides (with indivudal temp control). Now I find we stay in the shower too long. But I don't think I can blame that on the faucet. :-)

4Very good
By karensalyer
I am very satisfied with this faucet. The finished product looks nice. Thought the installation was a little complicated, since you have to assemble the cartridge unit.

4A Fine Flash MP3 Player
By File
I'm a complainer (as indicated below), and don't tend to give high ratings for most goods/service. However, this is one well-designed player. This is my fourth MP3 player, and I'll be comparing the T-10 primarily to the iRiver, iFP-799, which as of this writing is still available at Amazon. The Pluses:- Uses an AA battery. This is a feature I really like, because I love the long life it provides, and it provides loooooong life. I've not done a formal measurement of the device, because I can't bear to be parted from it for two full days, but I have no doubt that if you use Lithium Ion Batteries, that you can get the rated battery life out of the system. (people who complain the battery life claims are over rated are probably using alkaline batteries, which don't last nearly as long).- Battery compartment. The 799 was notorious for its flimsy battery compartment, which kept coming off, and which I would have lost if I hadn't taped it on. Well, they've overcompensated here, and the battery compartment is now attached and spring loaded. Its very well done - almost NASA or Military-quality.- Controls - how sturdy they are. One of the reasons I returned my iFP-799 was that after a month of obsessive use, the main control buttons were starting to wear out (or didn't work well enough from the beginning -- this was especially true of the center "Joystick"). The controls here appear to be sturdier, and a simple redesign of the main controls (on the top) makes them a bit easier to use, less likely to be bumped, because they are closer to the face (others don't like this, but I think its good), and because the center is not a joystick, it seems less likely to wear out. Another thing that's better is that the Lock, which you can see on the face, is easier to get to, and doesn't get hit accidentally.- The fm receiver/controls. First, the software design for storing and loading stations is much better than the ifp-799 (which I never did quite figure out), and i'd say its satisfactory. After you've figured out how to set/save a station, the rest is easily, and changing stations is very easy. The reciever itself is more sensitive than I would have thought, though the antenna/headphones make weaker stations fade based on your configuration. Although I've not done a formal measurement, it appears to be a good as my $40 CD/MP3 stereo. I wish it were more sensitive, but I'm being unreasonable.- Lanyard Latch. They went out of their way to make the latch that you attach the player to really big and sturdy. It works well and does appear as sturdy in person as it does in the photo. It is of course overkill, but it doesn't hurt anything. I have a minor annoyance with how easy it is to atttach the player to the lanyard (see below), because of the shape of the faux leather connector that comes on the lanyard. Its a bit hard to attach/detach the lanyard w/o looking. Also, I find I often start/stop/turn on/off the player when putting it in/out of the lanyard. This may be in part be an artifact of my left handedness.- Accessories. Because I bought the Australian version (see below), I didn't get the armband (which I liked alot on the ifp-799). it did come with a lanyard, which is of a different design than I've ever seen before. Its adjustable in the back, with the slack being taken up by increasing the overlap of the two sides. Its a very elegent design, and works very well. Update: after a month, it has started to slip during use.- Sturdiness. I haven't done a drop test, and don't intend to (not that that's ever stopped me before!). However, the device appears to be quite sturdy. I would have recommended that they build the "black" parts of the device out of some slightly rubberized material to mitigate against the inevitable drop which will be in my future. The Minuses:- Music Management Software. I object strenuously to the idea that I can't use the 1 GB device as a standard USB Mass Storage Device. There are three downsides to this control. First, you can't connect your player to a PC unless you have had the forethought to install the software on that PC; second, the management software will allow you to copy non-music files from the player to your PC, but not music files. Third, ITS YOUR STUFF. Many people won't object to this as much as I do, and won't find it more than a minor inconvenience, especially if you know what computers you will get you files from. In fact, many people will think of the music management software as a plus, which will allow you to play DRMedstuff on their devices, which the standard MSD device won't support. I didn't like it.- The OLED display. Because of the technology used, there is no backlit display, either its on and brilliant (and it is very bright -- I've used it as a flashlight around the house at night!), or its off. The IFP-799 had a standard LCD display, which allowed you to see what was on the display in ambient light without having to burn battery. The big downer here is that it is not sunlight readable, as are LCDs. I've found that this is tolerable, becuase I seldom need to look at it in sunlight, but your milage may vary here.- Control Positioning. I wish they had put the three controls which are currently on the "left" side, on the right. This is because they are on the outide of the "Bulge", and is more likely to be bumped than if they were on the other side (the "inside"). I don't think they should have put the "elbow" in the document at all, but it's a small thing.-USB Connectivity. It does not plug directly into a USB Drive (Needs the cable that you use for your digital camera). Of course it is a USB 2.0 device.- USB Cover. The cover for the USB Connector appears to be brittle, because its made of hard plastic, and I fear that it will eventually break off with repeated use.-USB Access while off. I wish that I could use it as a USB MSB even when it is off. Think about it - your USB memory key doesn't need any internal power to access the memory key. Why should my MP3 player be different?- No audio in. In the 799, you could put audio in and record it in MP3, which was a nice perk, but I never used it, and don't miss it.- Display format. The display, though very bright, is only satisfactory in its layout. They appear to have the space to make the letters bigger, but they didn't. Its good enough, but could have been better.- The secondary controls are non-intuitive, difficult to learn. It took me a week to be able to do everything seamlessly without experimentation, and the first day was very frustrating.- Earphones. They're OK. You don't use the earphones that come with your MP3 player anyway, do you? But for the record, they are OK, but not for me. However, they are "straight out", while the design of the device cries out for earphones that come out at a right angle. This is becuase the phones out are at the left of the device, rather than the top. I recommend you get earphones of your liking.- Sound. This is neither a plus or a minus. I tend to think of all of these digital mp3 players as having basically the same frequency characteristics, nad that the big difference comes in the choice of speakers/ earphones, and optionally amplifier/ speakers. I'm using either Shure E2c earphones (which I have some comments on -- see that review) -- as well as some $10 sony over the ear phones when the E2cs aren't appropritiate. Becuase the Shure's are so efficient at transferring sound to the ear, I listen to them at a volume of 1 to 4 on the T-10, depending on my concentration on the sound. At the lower volume levels (1, 2 actually), the frequency response of the combination looses some base. At higher volumes There is nothing to complain about. This is probabably at least as much an issue with how good the e2cs are, rather than a real problem with the T-10.None of the Minuses listed above are of any consequence to me other than the inability to use the device as a standard mass storage device (MSD), and many people might find this annoying, but it detracts only slightly from the overall usability of the system. If you don't like DRM: I concur with all the other complaints posted here on DRM. To overcome the DRM Software, I first called the company and found that they don't have software available to the American version that allows its use as a MSD. Then, I found that iRiver publishes different software in different countries. For instance, it's my understanding that the European version has the radio disabled, because of a tariff issue. Well, in Korea and Australia (and most certainly the AU version), the software has the ability to choose either the Music Manager firmware, or the MSD firmware. Thus, you can have it either way with these versions. Thus, you might consider the AU version, if the MSD capability is important to you. You are unlikely to find the AU version at Amazon, though I've not checked with all the third parties. I ended up paying the equivalent of the Local big box price plus overnight shipping for the device I wanted.Whether you get the American or another version, this is a well designed MP3 player, asuming you don't need to read it in direct sun (which I've not found is a big deal).

5Wonderful player, thrilled with it.
By D. Grant
This is my third MP3 player. My first two were hard drive types- one jammed up all the time and I returned it, and the second was wonderful until I dropped it- "sigh". So this time, I thought I would just get a small flash type. I really liked the fact that I could replace the battery and just keep moving on. The only thing I didn't like, was the fact that I couldn't get all that many songs on it. I loaded up my cds (yeah, I'm still one of those who has a bunch of cd's), and was able to put about 18 on it. Okay, not bad, but then I thought, well, what if I reduce the bit rate down from the standard 128 (which is the Windows Media Player default setting when you burn CDs). So I went into Windows Media Player to tools, then options, and realized that under one of those tabs you could change the download setting. So I changed it all the way down to 48 bit (gasping cry from all the audiophiles out there...), and tried one cd first in 128 bit, and then in 48 bit. I switched back and forth between the two quality settings in several songs, and while you may not have the quality that the "experts" say you need to have, for my little ol' ears, I could barely hear any difference whatsoever. So I went back and reburned all my cd's at 48 bit, and "voila"- I now have a 1 gig flash player that holds 45 cd's with no (to my and my 17 year old's ears) discernable loss of quality! Needless to say- I am thrilled. I love the fact that I can change a battery out anytime I want, and don't need to plug this into a computer to charge up. Plugged in a nice little set of $40 sony headphones, and it sounds as wonderful as ever. I have no problems with the controls (and I am a big 280lb guy). I've got 45 cd's, a radio, and small flash sized convenience in one happy package. If you are one of those audiophiles who fusses over those sound quality issues, then go get yourself a 4 gig Ipod nano, and load it up at 128 or 192 bit and have fun. But if you just want to listen to some music, and are more easily pleased, then this player is a wonderful way to go. So now, excuse me, but I am going to very happily ride off into my 48 bit sunset... :)

5IRIVER T10
By Stephen Newkirk
The Iriver T10 player is just perfect. It is just what I was looking for in a player. The 1GB storage is nice. Hopefully they can expand future models to 2 GB someday. The FM feature is great. The T10 comes with a neckstrap and an armstrap. I use both. The arm strap is nice when jogging. The FM reception is far better then I expected it to be. Even when indoors it comes in nice and clear. You also have an option to record FM or voice. It even can record FM broadcasts at a set time. You don't even have to be there. The player just kicks on at the specified time and records. Nice feature!I take the T10 to sporting events and listen to the radio broadcast of the game and catch up on other scores. I have no complaints about this player. The sound is awesome even with the supplied earbuds. I use Shure E2C's which are wonderful. It is a nice investment. Well worth the money.

5Finally, A Real "Old School", Vacuum Cleaner!
By Protek
The vast majority of vacuums on the market today are poor substitutes for the "old school" models that gained fame in the 1950's and 60's. Mostly Plastic, cheaply made, and never doing the job good enough, most vacuums today do just enough to get by. This unit by Metropolitan not only pays homage to those legendary cannister vacs of the 1950's, but it actually cleans like them! This vac actually is powerful enough, to suck up, anything it touches, so it not only picks up the deepest dirt, and dust, but if you're not careful, it'll also devour socks, coins, paper, and other small items! This is the type of concentrated, sustained, sucking power, lacking in most contemporary units. With it's mulitiple filtration, quiet operation, and lightweight, this vacuum is a joy to operate. The need to buy filters and bags may be construed as a negative, but in reality, it's a reasonable trade-off, for the true "old school" cleaning power, this unit delivers.

5metro vad adm-4sf 11.25 amp 4 HP canister vac
By Laurie d'Ault
This is the best vacuum I have ever used! Don't be stupid like me and get just the basic model, though...make sure you get the power nozzle!!! I have two cats and a German shepherd...don't know what I was thinking. This vac is so powerful and amazingly lightweight. If you live in a house that is shaped like a rocket like I do...all stairs and no depth... you need this vacuum. I think it does a better job than my daughter's Dyson and the lightweight feature is the whip! I'm only 5' tall and find it nearly impossible to drag that heavy-butt upright up and down all these stairs, but the metro vac is totally portable and easy to use. Comes with an arsenal of attachments. I guess the only disadvantage is the fact that now I have to buy bags again instead of the dirtcup, but now no dust escapes when I empty it like it did with the big upright. Also, mine, at least, did not come with explicit instructionsregarding what was what, but it is not rocket science. Plus, they have an extremely helpful customer service department that you can find at their website online...[...] Did you know that you can use this thing as a powerful leaf and lawn blower as well? Yeah buddy! It looks cool, too...like something out of a Flash Gordon movie. It is all polished stainless steel and it is one of those 50's style bullet-shaped canisters. And the very best best best thing of all about this thing is that it is completely made in the USA!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!!! HOORAY!!!! I almost had a heart attack when I saw it. Their logo is "deliberately made better in the USA" Ain't that a fact? They are located in New York and are run by a family that's been in business since the 30's. You DO want this vac! You will not be sorry.

This is by far the best vacuum I have owned, and I've had several Hoovers, an Electrolux and most recently an Oreck. This machine actually picks up dog hair! It's so nice to feel like you're really cleaning the floors, not simply running over them. I'd buy it again!

4Powerful, but not (as durable as) your mother's vacuum.
By Maisie in Miami
UPDATE: WOULD REDUCE TO 2 STARS. At no charge, the manufacturer sent a replacement cover to correct the broken rivet. The customer service was good. They suggested bending the wheel into place to straighten the Now, however, 17 months after purchase, the electric power nozzle does not turn on. This follows on several weeks of the nozzle turning on and off intermittently. Now I wish I had purchased the vacuum from a physical store with a buyer protection program. My new strategy is to buy cheap vacuums on a buyer protection plan and get the broken parts replaced. This was way too expensive for the grief.ORIGINAL: I bought this because I was tired of the expensive, plastic vacuums falling apart within the first year of use. While this vacuum is incredibly powerful (indeed it sucks the area rugs right off the floor) it's not the indestructible stainless steel canister vacuum of my childhood. Within the first 4 months a rivet broke loose from the canister, making it impossible to close the vacuum. I tape it shut for use now. One wheel drags as well, leaving long black scuff marks on my white floors. I'm underwhelmed, but perhaps the manufacturer will make good on the warranty.

1Not a good vacuum, lacks modern features, sucks - in the wrong way
By Gamul
I bought this vacuum for a few reasons:1) All the brand name vacuums listed on consumer reports have user reviews that said the vacuums were not that good2) the user reviews for this vacuum were much higher, albeit fewer people, but I looked at both models too.3) The reviews of this vacuum made it sound like it was amazingI am truly wondering if the previous reviewers all worked for the company. While I will say this IS a good vacuum, it does not live up to the hype and quite frankly lacks some key modern features or has some poor quality aspects1) The cord just hangs out there with no place to go. You can wrap it around the body but that is a pain in the @$$.2) The spare attachments hang onto a flimsy plastic carrier that poorly snaps onto the vacuum tube/pole3) the long pole attachment (not the set that goes to the power nozzle but the other long one for the non powered attachments) does not clip. As you are vacuuming the pole will frequently fall off onto the floor.4) The documentation / instructions for this vacuum are very poor at best. All you basically get is a poor quality single sheet of paper with very vague instructions. When you unwrap the vacuum, you have 4 poles and it takes a while to figure out why 4 (2 for the power nozzle and 2 for non power). No help from the directions. All it says is to attach the poles. You also are left wondering about the bag and filter insertion. there is absolutely nothing about proper installation.5) You have two power buttons. One on the main body of the vacuum and one for the power nozzle. When using the power nozzle this design makes no sense at all. You have to turn the body power on, and then you have to turn the power nozzle power on. When you shut the power nozzle off, the vacuum is still running and still needs to be shut off. The button on the body is a toggle switch. Low to the left, Off in the middle, and High to the right. It takes some getting used to when trying to switch it off to not go completely from low-high (or high-low) instead of stopping in the middle. The vacuum has very good suction, but it certainly won't suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. :-)minus 1 star for horrible documentationminus 1 star for dumb power controlsminus 1 star for nothing modern on the features/attachmentsI almost wanted to give another minus 1 star for not living up to the hype.I am not totally disappointed with the vacuum. It basically works fine. And I am not sure how happy I would be with the brand name vacuums with so many real people rating them low. I might still buy this vacuum if I did it again. But my expectations would be much lower.UPDATE 12/27/2009: OK - its been 3 months and I would change the stars to 0. My wife says she clearly hates this vacuum and I have to agree it is a pain in the @$$ to use. It works as a vacuum just fine - but how you use it is such a pain it makes the thought of going around and picking up each piece of dirt by hand sound more attractive. Clearly previous reviewers had to be employees of the company and were forced to leave positive comments.

4Metropolitan AMD-4PNHSF w/ power nozzle
By Dominick Rocco
We just opened the box. It took all of 5 minutes to put it together. First thing I checked was the suction. It was great. Two negatives, no auto cord recoil and the exhaust is loud. It is well built, glides nicely along the floor, comes with all the accessories, including two extra chrome metal wands, has a powerful rug beater and the bare floor nozzle has great bristles. It is light weight so it is easy to carry up the stairs and makes it OK to clean the stairs, although I wish the hose was longer. We have had all types of vacuums, Oreck upright, sharp canister, Hoover canister, shop vacs, etc. After all is said and done, when you get right down to it, you have to use a canister vac if you want to really clean. It allows you to get the dirt and dust in those hard to reach places and an upright is simply not going to cut it. We looked at all the vacs, Electrolux, Dyson, Eureka, Kenmore, Bla, Bla, Bla, Ba Bla. Based on price, performance, ease of use, durability and good old SUCTION!, this Metro is the sucker of all house vacs, bar none. It has a toggle switch for low and high suction and the power head is well made. My wife just made a comment that it is LOUD, but man it really feels like the house is clean!! Go for it!!!

4Very nice ring

This ring was very nice and pretty, however my monitor showed the stone as being a deeper pink and it was very pale, although pretty returned for that reason. Will definitely consider buying again.

5this is an awesome saw!
By Shantara
THE MOST POWERFUL RECIP SAW EVER! 15 AMPS! the first time ever a recip saw ("sawzall"), has ever been at 15 amps. this saw has the most advanced anti-vibration system of any saw. it's powerful, yet it purrrs. most recip saws jerk like crazy in your hands; this one hardly moves at all. it has a 4-speed orbital and is easy to hold. changing a blade is easy: you twist the collar and it ejects the blade; simply insert the blade and it locks automatically. it can easily be done with one hand. it has a two finger trigger and 6 speeds. the adjustable shoe is the easiest i've ever used; one button releases the shoe and the other locks it. no levers or other complicated techniques. again, it's a one-handed operation.i truly love this saw.previous makita recip saws haven't been all that great, and i never even considered them before now. i'm glad i made the right choice. i prefer this over the milwaukee 6523-21 13amp and the hitachi and the porter-cable and the bosch and the dewalt.

4Not Perfect, but as good as I have found
By Benjamin J. Flom
I have a few reciprocating saws (all "top of the line"), this one, the SawZall (13 AMP and rotating) and the Hitachi 12 AMP. I think this saw is the best of the group - but still not what I expected. After about 2 months of use this saw broke on me. The motor still turns but the shaft does not move in and out. This saw when it works is very good, cuts well, and the case is nice (I like that it is heavy). Truth be known I do not think any of the reciprocating saws are made with the quality of my original all metal Sawzall. I do not think any saw today is made for professional use and regular demolition work. As far as durability, this unit is made in China, the rubber boot on the blade changing mechanism will break off within about 20 uses (my Sawzall took 1/2 that time to break, my Hitachi still works, my original sawzall still works - 2 repairs in 25 years). The saw gets very hot during prolonged use (the rubber boot on the blade changing piece is there so you can touch it and change the blade because it gets too hot to touch. I think it needs a better mechanism to connect the reciprocating arm to the motor. The arm should go back and forth - no matter what and should stay aligned (the saw does not do anything else!). From what is available today, this unit is probably best of bread and is fine.

2Inadequate shoe support mechanism
By P. R. Demers
I used this tool for 6 months during a major renovation. All started well and I was very impressed with the saw. The one short coming is the front shoe and the shoe holder. The mechanism that holds the shoe became looser and sloppier, causing the blade to cut into the shoe as it would rotate. The entire shoe support mechanism eventually just fell apart, rendering the saw unusable. Something a little more substantial is needed. I would be willing to accept a more robust shoe holder in exchange for the `inconvenience' of having to use a wrench to adjust it. A good motor and good blade change mechanism are offset by the shoe mechanism rendering the saw inoperable after only 6 months. Buy with caution.

5Excellent product and excellent service from Seller
By M. Mitchell
While I'm not a fan of American Standard products, I needed to match a client's existing valves with new trim. These handles were exactly as described but they didn't fit the existing older valves. The Seller was excellent in communicating my order and shipment information and followed up with me when I requested to return the handles. They were friendly and courteous and I would definitely do business with them again.

5great saw!
By G. Carver
I read a lot of reviews on Milwaukee, DeWalt, Rigid & others, but the Makita's stood above them all so I went with the JR3060T. It paid off! It's a bit on the heavy side (which makes those hard to reach jobs harder), but it won't let you down when it comes to power and smooth action. The tool-less blade locking mechanism is solid and easy to use as is the adjustable shoe. The variable speed is quite smooth and hopefully will outlast the Milwaukee and Craftsman saws I've used. I only used it a few times so far, but so far I'm quite happy with it.

5Great saw!
By JKB2
Being a professional carpenter for over twenty years, I've used my share of reciprocating saws. This saw, hands down, cuts the smoothest! Plenty of power with a sense of control, it's hard not to like it.Actually, I purchased this to replace the same make / model because someone liked it 'too much'. So having had this saw for a few years and using it, I wanted another when I needed to replace it.The only con in it's use and construction that I've found is, if you wear heavy gloves (like in the Winter) and have larger hands, the D handle can be a little tight. This can cause a problem with the saw running on after you release the trigger for a few seconds or longer. It's something to consider and could be a safety hazard. Bare handed or thin gloves, not a problem. I don't think Makita factored in large bulky gloves in the ergonomics design and use.Otherwise, if you're used to some older recip. saw that wants to bind and shake your arm off boy are you in for a treat! You'll smile the first time you use this, it cuts so smooth and fast! You'll wonder why you waited so long to replace or upgrade!
