Burgandy Physician bag

This was a much, much smaller version of the custom bag my husband had made for me when I was a Lay-Midwife. The first burned in our Feb 2012 housefire. I did not really want to replace it since I am now a Registered Nurse but insurance mandated replacement. When I received it, I LOVED the quality and the new leather smell BUT I could not get it opened. I sent a message to the company and they were kind enough to send me back instructions. Meanwhile my brother and husband figured it out. So, I have a lovely, compact version that I will stock with the things I use now for trips or when someone asks me to come check on a friend or family memeber. Round Bars or Trunnion-Style?

That's one question you need to consider when choosing a weight distribution hitch. The web consensus is for trunnions unless your trailer needs the frame clearance of round bars. The other question is, "How heavy of a WD hitch is required?" For this you need to determine the maximum tongue weight of the trailer plus contents and choose the lightest WD hitch that equals or exceeds this weight.My trailer hitch socket is mounted on top of the frame so it seemed that trunnions might bind on the frame during turns, or need to be pointed down excessively to clear the frame. This factor pushed me toward the round bars, and my measured 900 lb maximum tongue weight dictated the 1200 lb Reese 66067.Installation wasn't bad using the included instructions along with a healthy supplement of Youtube instructional videos. Installing a WD hitch requires some tweaking of the height on the shank, tilt, bar tension and snap-up bracket position. Making these changes, except for the bar tension and bracket position, involves unhitching the trailer which is a pain. It took me about two hours to dial this in, trying different settings and observing the effect.I wasn't done yet. This hitch plus shank extends further from my truck than the original which meant having to buy longer safety chains and a longer breakaway brake cable. Getting the lengths of the chains and cable to function correctly but not drag on the ground (chains) or bind on the hitch during turns (breakaway cable) claimed another three hours and required multiple trips to the hardware store.So how does it perform? The difference in the ride is better than I expected. The truck now rides level, and dips in the road and braking don't cause the rear end to lope up and down as before. With the Reese 66067, I might forget I have 7000 lbs behind me! I also hope this hitch stops the premature wear that's been occurring to the front tires of the truck. I'll have to report back on this one.I posted a picture (Amazon reduced the resolution - sorry) that shows towing before (top), the level of the truck unhitched (middle), and finally towing with the Reese 66067 (bottom). Look to the "grass horizon" above the truck bed. It tells the story about how the Reese eliminated the squat of my tow vehicle.Other quick notes:- The 66067 does not include a shank or hitch ball. You'll need to buy these.- The 66067 does include a snap-up tool (a.k.a. pipe). Don't buy one like I did.- The 66067 includes a shim which I needed to use with the Reese 63971 shank. Placing the shim correctly to get the bolts through during height adjustments was the worse aspect of the installation. I'd give the 66067 ½-star less for this if I could.- Don't leave tools out of your total cost calculation. I needed to buy wrenches for the hitch ball and for the 1-1/8" hex heads on the 66067.- The directions say to use, "several drops of oil at the spring bar / ballmount contact points." Given the additional tension that's put on the hitch ball and socket with spring bars, oiling the hitch ball (something I didn't do before) seems like a good idea to reduce wear on the ball and socket. WD-40 works great and wipes off nicely after you disconnect.Good luck, and happy towing!Tire Wear Follow-up (November 7, 2010):We put new tires on the truck last Fall, and my wife hauled (horses) more than usual this season. Normally I would expect to see a good amount of wear on the outside of the front tires but with the Reese 66067 they appear to be wearing evenly now. So not only does the WD hitch provide a better and safer ride, it's probably quickly paying for itself by reducing uneven tire wear.Admittedly, connecting up the trailer is more complicated with a WD hitch than without. I thought my wife might grouse at using it, but the ride is so much better she's glad to have it and she's become an expert at hooking up.Happy hauler and happy husband!

Good solution for towing with extended pickup camper

I purchased this to extend my receiver hitch because my pickup camper is 18 inches longer than my truck box. It works great for pulling my 3000 lb boat. I haven't noticed any extra sway in the boat when towing. I will also be using it for my bike rack. Like other Reese products I have tried, this appears to be very well built.Some things to be aware of:- Extension is 2" to 2" receiver- This extension is rated to 4000 lbs gross trailer wt. but you also can't exceed 65% of you vehicle's hitch rating. (Some extensions limit you to 50% of vehicle hitch rating)- You may need to increase the length of your trailer safety chains to reach your vehicle hitch. You can't attach the safety chains to the extension.- You may need to extend your trailer light cord to reach your vehicle outlet.

Trailer hitch extension

The quality of this product was superior! I used it because I needed to extend my hitch connection because I was hauling my Harley in my Short bed Ford pickup with the tailgat down and still needed to haul my 12' trailer behind the truck . I drove from Ohio to Florida. Worked Great! Just needed to extend the electrical cord and safety chains!

Multi-functional

I bought this chair to go with the soft white Adams desk sold both on Amazon and Target, and it is more than I imagined. The chair blends beautifully with the architecture of the desk, and the colors are virtually indistinguishable. I use it in a rather small (miniscule) office space in my bedroom. Also, the chair is pretty sturdy. I weigh roughly 180lbs, and I allowed a family member who weighs well over 200lbs to sit in the chair, and it never creaked. If you have hardwood floors invest in felt covers for the legs as the chair does not come with any.

Still strong and comfy after 3 1/2 years!

I bought two of these chairs with matching drop leaf table in Dec. 2008 for my small kitchen. They are still in great shape and strong (not wobbly). They come with a distressed look which, in a busy household with kids, might look too worn and beat up. Too heavy, too long.

I bought this to use with with my hitch mount bike rack to clear the tire I carried on the back gte of my Jeep. It is way too long, incredibly heavy and lets the bike rack dangle all over the place. I am using it for the wrong application, it's not good as bike racks extension.

Well built & finished. Fits very well into receiver, no wobble. My only dissapointment is the cheap plastic chrome colored sleeve meant to dress it up. Why not just go the extra mile & make it metal instead of cheap plastic which will break in no time. Reese, you can do better than this.

Lovely space saver

Put this in my living room...right inside the door. It creates the feel and look of an entry, where there is none, and yet does not take up precious floorspace. I hung three small Longaberger baskets from it, for keys. The ledge is perfect for my cell phone.With the wood and beveled mirror, it looks classy. Very Pottery Barn. It's a nice quality piece. I love it.

We've had this for a little over a year in our entrance hallway. We're very happy with it.It is sturdy, nicely finished, and looks more expensive than it really is. Great for hanging baseball hats or keys on. HOWEVER, the hooks are not sturdy enough for adult coats, in my opinion.

Adds "power" to your train table!

If you get in on sale (e.g. 40% or so off), it's a good buy & a nice addition to your wooden train set. Between loading the coal, unloading it, generating power (pushing the smokestack which spins a "power" wheel & lights up 5 little lights), there's a few nice interactive things for your little one to play with (none of which require batteries!).Also comes with a coal car & two loads... which is nice. What's also nice is that there isn't a track attached to it... which makes it much easier to work into your layout.I've knocked a star off just because relative to some other Thomas & Brio items, it seems a little pricey for what you get - and doesn't seem to be as "high quality" as some of the Brio stuff or even other (older?) Thomas items.In general though, the kid likes it (& so do I!). So a good product / buy!

Very neat

If your child likes Thomas, this is a neat product. When you push down on the chimney, there is actually a generator inside the unit that runs and powers LED lights. My children love to play with this toy. It is quite expensive, but that's typical of Thomas stuff. One thing to note - this is a standalone unit and does not connect to the track.

AT&T E-Series Expansion Heandset

Some time ago, I invested a considerable sum in my phone system, only to find a day later that AT&T was no more! A great destination for Thomas and Friends

This is probably my favorite Thomas and Friends destination. The mechanism for the logs "cutting" works very well. The magnets that hold the logs together are the right strength and allow the logs to be picked up by the crane (or Cranky) before and after they are cut.The log car is cute, though it seems like they could have reused the cargo car rather than create a new vehicle - especially since the timber yard comes with two logs; now my child wants the logs to only go in the log car instead of placing them in the cargo car, even though they fit the cargo car just fine. I wish the crane was a ratcheting-style crane, but as none of the Thomas cranes use this mechanism, I was not surprised.The package I purchased had the building attached to box with the wire-ties which unfortunately weave through the bottom of the build itself; requiring a pair of pliers and aggressive pulling to remove entirely.

I purchased this for my 2 1/2 year old grandson. He likes it but it is hard getting the saw to slide over the log as if it was cutting it. I kept the toy but I wish the cutting was easier. We will see if he gets discouraged because it is so hard to cut.

Great Addition

I got this for my two year oldhristm for a Christmas present. He loves "cutting" the logs in half. I love that it's a stand alone location (no track piece connected to it) so we can put it anywhere in our layout. I had a heck of time getting those "security ties" out of the bottom. That's the one problem I had with the timber yard. Other than that, my son loves it and it's' great fun! I definitely recommend.

Bought two of these in 1990 for my wife and I, and used them across Africa, India and Indonesia over 15 months travelling (needed one spare cartridge per pump over this time). We were recommended them by some experienced travellers. They are "ugly and not made in Switzerland", but worked perfectly with some very dubious water and we never got ill from what we drank (we had a few problems with food now and then...) I'd buy another without a second thought. Recommended.

Best on the market! Hands down!

This is simply the best purifier out there, especially for the price. It purifies anything, pumps fast, and screws on to nalgenes and other bottles. I even used it in a sulphur hot springs, and it completly removed the smell and taste. You will here a lot of stories about drinking water from wierd places with these, because they work!You cant go wrong with these babies... Survival Training School of California approved!

Awesome filter!... but not perfect and not unbreakable..

Do not get me wrong, I LOVE this filter. It totally smoked my friends MSR filter on a recent trip to Yoesmite. It takes 40 pumps on this filter to create a liter of water. The MSR took 90+ pumps to do the same job. Yes, it is a bit bigger than other filters but if you have ever had to fill 3, 6-liter dromedary bags solo in mosquito infested areas, you want a filter that is going to process water quickly, and easily which the First Need does VERY WELL.Now for the three downsides... I will start with the most minor... Attaching a Nalgene or drom bag to the First Need is a bit of a pain. The pump shaft is located too close to the filter mouth and the drom bag materials and the cap rings on the Nalgene bottles get all hung up between the filter parts when screwing them on. Now, my preferred method for using the First Need now is to take the cap and ring OFF of one Nalgene liter bottle and use that as my primary pumping receptacle. Then I just dump-fill from that bottle into others so that I don't have to fight with caps and rings on ALL of the items I need to fill.2nd bummer - my filter canister froze and the filter element inside failed. It was my fault for letting it freeze, but I treated it with kid's gloves druing the defrost process but the insides still broke apart and failed the integrity test (after just 5 days use)3rd bummer - On my last trip, the rubber connection tube between the pump and the filter housing blew out - tore right across the tube - I assume due to the pressure. Luckily I had some tubing from an MSR shower kit that I was able to boil and then slip over the tear in the tubing (as a sleeve) to get me through the final 5 days without issue. However, at a Max pressure of 50 p.s.i. (at stated by Generel Ecology) that rubber hose should not have burst.At the ned of the day, however, I would buy this filter again and I would pay more money for it than I did originally!
