4Does what it's supposed to do -- and does it well.
By J. A. Connolly
Thus far, I can offer up only two caveats: the DVPNC80V's less-than-perfect display and its limited random programming capability. As most of your settings will probably be handled via your monitor (assuming you're using the deck for video and not just audio playback), this isn't really a problem. Even though the onboard display needs to be pretty much at eye level to be seen clearly (as another reviewer noted), it is sufficient. As for random or "shuffle" play -- and this is a big one, in my opinion -- Sony still doesn't get it; how can they produce a multi-disk deck that does so much so well and STILL refuse to offer the option of random play on all five disks??? Once again, you can only shuffle a single bay at a time. Fortunately (for me), I'm using this player primarily for video and SACD audio, without all that much need for random play (I have another changer that fills the bill in that respect). Still...All in all, though, this is quite a remarkable unit -- especially at the price -- and is well worth considering if you're in the market for a "do-it-all" changer. Both sound and picture are superb, with a multitude of options, especially disk compatibility: a terrific value, really.

3Great features, but not perfect
By Derek
As other reviewers have pointed out this DVD changer is hard to beat for features and price. However, it's not perfect. I bought the 80V to replace a failing 3-year-old Sony 5-disc changer (the model number escapes me) and I'm slightly disappointed. The 80V has a terrible LED display -- it's dim and recessed, as if hiding in a cave, almost useless. This changer is also SLOW to turn on (it displays W-E-L-C-O-M-E slowly, letter by letter, each time you fire it up). And when you put in a DVD it takes much longer than my old Sony before it starts to play. You have to sit through a 20-30 second "Loading" message before the disc even starts. I can't knock the price or features, but after 3 months of trying to get used to it I'm looking for something better. My old Sony was much more responsive, so I don't know what they were thinking. Once the 80V gets going it's fantastic, but life is too short to waste on "Loading." :-)

5WOW!
By 4EverYoung
This unit has so far surpassed all of my expectations. As the description states, it can truly support practically every format out on the market, including the coveted "DVD+R DL" (dual layer disc's 8.5gb's)& "DVD+RW". Other cool features include progressive scan & resume. Progressive scan means if your tv can support a higher viewing/picture clarity (as dvd's are intended to produce) this player can decode the signal to produce brilliant, vibrant, razor shap images. The one con that this unit doesn't have, is a built in dolby digital/dts decorder. No biggie tho.. As long as your receiver has one built in it, your all set. This unit pairs up magnificently to my Phillips 42 inch plasma (42pf9956/37) so much so, that my other previous units (2 panasonic& 1 jvc) pale in comparison.Oh happy day.

5Those who love home canning will love this!
By E. Thompson
This outdoor burner is the best I've seen. It allows for two pots to cook and water to boil in no time flat. No more messy water bath on your stove inside! You can process twice as many canning jars in the water bath or cook corn and your clams all at the same time for you next big party! This is sturdy, easy to store and no more black bottom on your pots because of the regulator it has! There is an optional griddle to purchase so you can cook on it too! A+

3But be warned
By IWOM
I fully agree with other reviewers that this is an excellent purchase if you are canning, brewing etc. However, be warned this stove is extremely hot. Perhaps I should have understood this from the BTU but I didn't (and nor does the Camp Chef website have any clear warning about this). I cracked two grill plates and two heavy cast iron pots within a couple of minutes on this stove (including a cast iron pot on top of the grill plate!). I do not think you could use this stove for anything other than high volume liquids. Personally I think the novices out there, like me, need a warning of some type to make that perfectly clear.

5Very well constructed outdoor stove.
By Richard S. Sharbaugh
Camp Chef is probably one of the better outdoor grill makers out there. My In-Laws Camp Chef is what turned us on to buy one. My wife does a lot of canning and I really wanted to get the entire process outside, and this stove is the tool to do just that.Pros:* Heavy gauge steel, unit is very beefy.* Entire setup is power coated for durability.* This stove comes with legs so it doesn't require a table to set on.Cons (I'm being picky):* Starting the stove is a pain. You need to use a long lighter. Matches will work but prove to be difficult.* Wing nut style heads are plastic and they came broken. This is the worst thing I have to say about the stove. Wish they were all metal. All in all, it is a great stove and works very well as a canning machine. Oh, don't let the BTU output fool you. If you pressure cook the regulators will let you turn the output down low enough for pressure cooking, so don't worry about that. It was worth it.

5Sony DAVFX10 Home theatre ---- very impressive
By Mr. X
I recently purchased the sony davfx10 and i am very impressed with the sound quality. i had a less expensive model froma different company before and it does not compare to the clarity of the sony. the design is also very slick with a very stylish reciever that. speakers mount very easily to the wall... just put a screw in the wall and the speaker simply hangs on it. setup was done in 15 min . i recommend turning up the rear speakers in the setup menu a couple decibles because it really enhances the surround sound alot. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for a great system, with clear sound and multiple audio inputs to connect xbox, cable, etc and listen to them in surround sound.

5ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!!!
By C. Parker
I purchased this system after a couple of weeks of researching Home Theater Systems. I decided on the Sony because it had the inputs that I needed at an affordable price. Plus Sony has always treated me good with other products.I had no problem hooking up the system and I was blown away by the sound! I put in the War of the Worlds DVD and it shook my living room. I don't even know how high the volume can go because level 25 is very loud. Someone said in their review that the sound was bad, but I don't see how that is unless they hooked it up wrong. It has an optical audio input and a digital coaxial input. I used the optical for my Xbox and Halo2 sounds great. Now I have finally completed my home theater experience because I already had the 51" HD TV!! I am one happy customer.

5High quality sound for the money
By A. Washington
I bought my 1st home theatre system back in 1996. I paid more then than I did for this system now. The funny thing is that this system would have cost me over a thousand dollars back then. Mind you this is without the 5 disc DVD/CD changer. They only had CD players back then. Anyway, the system came with very clear instructions on the set up & install. There is no need in purchasing speaker wire which is normally necessary when buying a home theatre system. What is even better is the fact that the speaker wires are color & polarity coded to avoid running the speaker wire to the wrong speaker or to the wrong input on the receiver. They are even cut to length based on if the speakers or surround rear or front speakers. The sound is very clear & the powered subwoofer will make your walls shake. I was surprised at the amount of sound output for the low price I paid for the system. There is even a Sony technical support line phone number that will help you troubleshoot problems if you run into any in the installation. The only negative thing that I see with the system is the fact that there are only two additional Video input jacks on the receiver. This is a problem for me because I could not integrate my VCR with the Tivo satellite receiver & Playstation 2 that I have connected to the receiver.
