Let me begin by saying that I did NOT want to succomb to a scooter. I am relatively young and it was a very difficult hurdle to go over for me. The first time I had to take my scooter out in public was filled dread and worry - for about the first 5 minutes.We had weighed out several possible choices for scooters and decided on the Shoprider Sprinter for its power and positive reviews on other sites - we bought it through Amazon for the lower price and reliable delivery as well as the fact that Amazon doesn't charge until your item is shipping (we'd been burned for a large amount by another company that pulled the money and after finding that they hadn't shipped the scooter we'd ordered from them we learned that they didn't even have it in stock - despite telling us they did when we ordered! That was a 5 week process of trying to get a refund and we were not going to go through it again!). It arrived in time for an event that we were looking very forward to - a large local Renaissance Festival - and we were thrilled that it got here.Our local Renaissance Festival is held outdoors on very rough terrain - rocks, roots, hills, dirt, etc. - and I had a great deal of concern about whether any scooter would handle what it would be put through there. I needn't have worried at all! This scooter takes it all on with ease and minor adjustments to the speed when going uphill. The adjustable tiller makes it easy on my shoulders and hands and resting my feet on the front "fenders" makes the ride comfortable for my hips as well. I was wondering how I would manage large radius turns but they have been no problem outdoors even with large groups of people around. Within 5 minutes I was well acclimated to the scooter and caught a few people laughing as I'd cruise around quickly, easily navigating through the areas of the Festival.We've taken the scooter out twice now and the battery life has been phenomenal! At least 7 hours of driving nearly the entire time and I've only used approximately 2 bars on the battery each time. We give it a full charge before taking it out and it's set. I've also seen others complain about the speed of other scooters but this one is more than enough speed for what I am using it for. I couldn't give you exact mph but I have got great control with the speeds that I have used and have never turned the speed up to more than half of what is offered. When considering the fact that, in previous visits to the Festival, I might last 3 hours and 3/4 of that time would be spent looking for places to sit or sitting, this has been an incredible improvement!The pneumatic tires were a bit of a concern initially as the terrain would be rough and we worried about flat tires but decided that no-flat tires might be too rough of a ride. We did purchase a fix-a-flat spray if needed but thus far have had no need for it at all and the more gentle ride is definitely an advantage.The only con I can think of at this time is the fact that it doesn't break down for transport which means we did have to purchase a carrier in addition to the cost of the scooter. It has been quite an investment but considering what it has given back in terms of restoring some mobility and stamina as well as sparing me of the long difficult recovery periods after an outing that I'd been dealing with prior to getting the scooter that had rendered me house-bound - it's been well worth it.I noticed that Amazon is now offering this scooter for $200 less than we paid for it and for that price I would advise you to jump on it immediately! We bought it about a month ago and have loved the advantages it has offered as far as comfort and time I can spend out doing the things I love to do.I wouldn't normally leave such a long review but because there are no others and this scooter really does meet any and all of our expectations I had to say something about it. We are very pleased with its performance and my husband now refuses to let me go out without it. It truly has changed my life for the better!
