So Far So Good...

So I run a 30" inch monitor at 2560x1600, I'd like to try some of the surround stuff in the future but for now i just wanted a card that could max out modern games at that resolution.It was between this and the evga which had slightly higher clock speeds but was a good bit more money and came with tshirts and crap I don't need.SO I got it, and it's a big beast of a card, need a full size case for sure, and it's heavy but not ridiculous, it installed fine with no problems, the nvidia drivers downloaded normally and I was up and running with very little effort.I immediately threw Crysis 1, Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2, Metro 2033, and Oblivion at the card at max settings to what can do what. Despite some claims on some reviews if I turned EVERYTHING to maximum there were a bit of issues I mainly think this is a result of trying to do 8x antialiasing at 2560x1600 on a high spec game, as at that resolution, AA kinda does nothing anyway. So I turned down AA to 2x or off in most games and don't notice a difference in quality. Other than that, it's flawless, It just eats through games, max settings, cutscenes, fighting, frantic fast action it's just so efficient you just don't think about it, you can really just immerse yourself in the game and never notice any graphics slowdowns or glitches of any kind.I also needed a driver update for crysis 2 which initially was extremely glitchy but a new driver fixed it. Now I couldn't be happier, as a bonus, I took my old Nvidia 280 which is still a pretty strong card and made it a dedicated PhysX card. Nvidia detected that it was there and allowed me to simply check a box to make it my physX card. I read you used to have to plug something into that card even if not using it but that's not the case, it just sits there and crunches physics, which is cool although I'm not sure how to test the physics per-se yet, I guess I'll try some physics heavy titles... (ideas?)All in all, a fantastic card, quiet, understated. There's an Asus utility that's supposed to be able to let you overclock and go crazy but honestly, there is NO game out that I can't max completely at totally stock settings (aside from the useless AA at that res in SOME titles) So I won't mess with it for now. Also the program didn't load properly but as I said, I don't plan to use it. The card is great, expensive as hell but great.

Beauty and Speed. It handles everything I throw at it.NOTE: I had a cheap (not in cost but in manufacture) 1000W power supply. And my system would hard shutdown everytime I pushed it. I replaced it with a Corsair HX1000W and its been heaven ever since.2nd NOTE: There is also a bug in the install of Nvidia drivers (OEM also) that after 10 installs of the drivers it fails to delete the next set of 'temporary' drivers. It also fails to detect the temporary 11th and on install drivers. WORKAROUND: Find the folder that the install program copies to. I.E. Installer2. Usually in ...\Program Files\Nvidia Corporation\Installer2 folder. Each time you run install it creates a series of folders like installer.1 the next install will be installer.2 etc. Before installing your new drivers uninstall your current drivers. Delete all the installer.

Just replaced my 480gtx with the 590gtxand have about a 70% increase on my framerates! Easy to install and works great with everyting maxed out! Runs quieter and cooler than my 480 as well! A must get if you can find one!
