2Better luck next time
By D. MILLER
Loved my first pair but these fell very short and my feet were hurting after only two days. The sole is very thin and you can easily twist and bend it from side to side. As a result you can feel small rocks, road imperfections and the ground with every step. Not recommended for police work. Great sole traction wise for slippery environments and hopefully they will make a boot like this with a beefier sole but until then I will stick with the Danner's. Better luch next time Wolverine.

5Best boot I've ever owned!
By routerron
I looked at several boots from Boot Barn, Sears, and JC Penny. From the moment, I slipped my feet into the Wolverine Exert, I knew these were the boots I was going to purchase. They offer rugged, full support of the ankle without cutting and rubbing against the ankle bone. They offer plenty of room in the boot and don't cramp the toe are, yet they are not sloppy where they let your feet slide around on the inside. Some of the key selling points for me were:1) immediate comfort - right out of the box, they were ready to be worn. No blisters and no "breaking in" period2) durability - I purchased these to replace the Catapillar boots that fell apart after four months. I use them for motorcycle riding, but could also use them for medium duty.3) construction - I find it easier to adjust the laces with three hooks vs. two on the top. The Wolverine Exert offers a thrid hook in the middle of the boot which makes it easier for slipping the boot on and off.4) value - Yes, the Wolverine in a $100.00 boot. You could pay less and get less of a boot. For me, it came down to this...is a boot that is very comfortable to wear all day long, does not require any breaking in, and is backed by the Wolverine brand worth the extra $40 I had to pay in comparison to the other boots? The answer was yes! After wearing these boots for two months, I'm glad I purchased the Wolverine Exert.3/9/12 Update:I am in the process of exchanging these boots. In the course of replacing the laces, I noticed that three of the eyelets had popped out of the boot sockets. The boot is still a good buy based on the merits mentioned above, but I am a bit disappointed that I am having to go through this. Especially with a WOLVERINE.
