5Great shoe for anyone from newbie to pro!!!
By Rock&Ice
Since I commented on the previous post, I figured that I should probably review this product. Climbing shoes are certainly very much about personal preference and feel. I have been climbing in the 5.10 Moc for the last 10 years or so, and it has been WONDERFUL! It functions well on anything: slab, microedges, smearing, cracks, sport, gym, etc. I really like the pull on slipper style, but this again is certainly personal preference. This is a climbing shoe so it is NOT going to be comfortable right out of the box if you are new to the sport. If this is the case you might want to spend some time at your local rock gym or outdoor sports gear shop and try some stuff on and get some advise on proper fitting. I wear a 9.5 street/athletic shoe (also this measurement on the metal foot measure thing in stores) and bought these in 8.5. They stretch out well and are perfectly form fitting afterwards with no deadspace. If you are experienced, you probably don't care too much about this review and if you are new/semi-new and just want to get into some very good, long-lasting rock shoes that will perform as you grow in the sport without getting out of your seat, then go ahead and order them. I would say half size down would be just fine, full size if you're a masochist, and street size if you just want comfort. Good luck and be safe!

4Excellent all around climbing shoe
By Timothy Wang
The Moccasym is an excellent all around shoe for beginners and experienced climbers alike. The Fit:Keep in mind that this is a slipper, meaning there is no velcro or laces to adjust the fit of the shoe. This makes it important to appropriately size so that you don't end up with a loose shoe after stretching. For a more performance fit I recommend half to a full size below street shoe, and for a more comfortable fit, half size below or your street shoe size. The bottom of the shoe is pretty much flat, with a low and slim heel profile. Overall the shoe is very comfortable and can be left on for long periods of time. The Peformance:The Moccasym isn't a high performance shoe per say, but it is a solid shoe all around. The sole is thin and offers excellent sensitivity, which may even take a bit to get used to if you're used to climbing with a thicker sole. The smearing and edging are where this shoe really shines. You are able to grip on dime edges and walk up the wall. The lack of rubber near the top of the toe box also makes for great toe hooking. However, the slim heel cup, along with the fact that this is a slipper make heel hooking rather precarious. It's very likely that your heel will pop out if you're hooking aggressively.Overall the Moccasym is a great shoe for anyone who is looking to add a solid slipper to their collection.Pros:-Comfortable-Great edging and smearing-Affordable-Fits many rolesCons:-Bad for heel hooking-Not a super precise fit-Turns feet red first few months

5Fits Perfectly
By James Luong
As with all rock climbing shoes, it's probably better if you try them on before actually purchasing them.My street shoe size is 10.5. I had some FiveTen Anasazi VCS's before I bought these and those were sized half a size down. Those were great except I couldn't use them for more than a couple of hours at a time before I would get sores and would have to call it for the day. So I decided to buy another pair for a more relaxed climb. The FiveTen Anasazi Moccasym shoes are great. I bought these at street size to give my feet more comfort and they run just a little tight. I could have these on for hours and have no complaints. They do turn your feet red though.
