1Messy, makes crusty rice and doesn't cook brown rice.
By Y. R. Wu
Boils over something fierce when cooking brown rice (even the Japanese "light brown" rice which cooks faster) and doesn't cook it properly (needs to cook it longer). Also boils with the sticky Japanese / Chinese rice. Annoying. Makes a heck of a mess. A pat of butter helps a lot with the boiling over (when you remember it) but there are still other flaws.Mess aside it does a decent job with traditional "Sticky" rice thought the bottom rice tends to "brown" or crust slightly which is not good. Our small (3 cup) cooker was too small and the only reason we bought this was the price and the brand (It's Panasonic, they must be OK for cooking rice) NOT SO.I recommend the traditional "Chinese" style rice steamers (e.g. Tatung with water added between the rice pan and the cooker) or the more expensive "Japanese" style cookers with the "moisture cap" which prevents boiling over. This is the worst of both worlds. We're going to buy something better.

1Not for every day rice cooking
By DDR
For the first two months, this rice cooker was just everything I had asked for. But after two months, the water started to drip from all corners of the rice cooker.... I first thought I was putting high amounts of water/ or may be the rice isn't good. I changed everything and its still working same way. Before returning it I thought I should try contacting Panasonic customer service and guess what....I was kept on hold for more than 30 minutes and then the customer rep says...its the amount of water thats causing the leak...I told him that I put 1.5 glasses of water per glass of rice...he says I should reduce it to 1 glass of water....this is absurd....I should as well eat raw rice...I am from Asia and therefore rice is our staple food. I have had Black and decker and salton rice cookers before...and never had any problems what so ever....the only reason for buying this panasonic rice cooker is that my previous rice cookers are not non stick....Well...I am going to return this one and buy some thing else...I found a similar non stick rice cooker (Hamilton Beach) in Kohls and I am going to buy it...

5Perfect Rice Cooker
By Harry B
I have an older rice cooker from panasonic. Its made of aluminium & is pain to clean after cooking. This one has a non-stick pan & works GREAT !! It comes with a spatula to serve rice & a measuring cup. Overall, A good buy for the price paid.
