Try this first before replacement

If you are looking for a replacement Franke white colander because you can't get your present one to look like new anymore -- and if you won't use harsh cleaning liquids, like bleach or commercial products -- consider this: 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and rubbing alcohol, with few tbsp baking soda. Leave on for an hour. If not spotless, try again and again until it is. This mixture is also good for metals like stainless or chrome, including pots and pans. I learned about this technique AFTER purchasing a replacement colander, but before buying a new set of stainless pots because my old ones were showing too much wear on the open rack. Now I have two totally white colanders and pots that gleam -- all of which should easily last a lifetime.
