5nice machine
By RB
Have owned this machine for about three months and have put together a few projects mostly 1/4" angle iron. I have also cut through 4" round steel with no problem. Power will never be a problem the way it is geared and does have variable speed. No tool quick blade change is nice. It runs just like Millwaukee tool I have used. Would put it on par with that.

5Makita beats Milwaukee Port a Band
By james c. simpson
have used Makita and Milwaukee port a bands side by side on a job cutting steel pipe, stainless steel hydraulic hose, and structural for three weeks. Makita is lighter, has wider belts so it throws bands less often, and is priced a little less. I had used Milwaukees in the past and was happy until I tried the Makita. Wish I could return the Milwaukee and exchange for Makita. Would recommend.

4Voltage?
By G. Johnson
I was just browsing band saws, and really liked the looks of this one. In the specs it says the voltage is 240. I thought this was kind of odd, so I checked Makita's website, and it is actually 120 volts. I have other Makita tools and they are very good, so I would think this is too. I gave it 4 stars because you have to give it something, but I have never actually seen one.
