Just what the doctor ordered

mounts perfect in a standard 19" rack, no adjustments needed. came with all the needed hardware for mounting.keeps the DSL modem, router, switch and NAS powered up when the lights go out. which happened about a week after I turned it on :))as noted by others only a serial port no USB port. not a deal killer for me.

This is a great simple UPS. Installation is straight forward, but 2 things to note:1. No USB port, so if you are using a Mac like I do - there is no way for your UPS to talk to your computer2. APC's software for Mac comes in 2 categories: old and non-existantI have it rackmounted, but had to get different rails than the ones supplied with it, the original ones work, but they are short and the unit tips backward a bit, about 1/4", so we used spare full length rails to mount this unit, but had to re-drill them side holes for screws.So, all in all - good bang for the buck, but next time I'll probably spend more to get the features I need.

Works well, but plan on installing a shelf under it.

This UPS works fine and is a tremendous bargain. Yet if you rack-mount it using only its small front brackets, it's going to sag about 1/4" in the back, which looks bad. So if you want it to look fantastic, you should plan on installing it on top of something else that mounts using both the front and back of the rack, or an actual shelf, to hold it up. Those front brackets it comes with should only be used to keep it from accidentally sliding out of the rack.Another thing to know's that when the power goes out, this thing starts periodically beeping (loudly). And during its last thirty seconds or so of power before it goes dead, its beeper starts screamin'; it goes BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP constantly until it dies. This is kind of annoying if it's 3AM and you're more interested in sleep than knowing that the power went out.
