Why this combination? The 2" jaws are a given (they come with the chuck!). 1" dovetails jaw are extremely useful for small turnings (Christmas tree ornaments etc). The Cole Jaws are our most popular selling jaw - designed for refinishing the bottom of a bowl up to 10". The 45mm Spigot jaws (my personal favorite) are just the ticket for long unsupported (i.e. no tail stock) spindle work - goblets, candle holders, etc. This is a great starter package - these are probably jaws you will buy eventually - buy them with the chuck and save!

I have used my Supernova2 chuck with three of the jaw sets so far. It works pretty well and I would strongly recommend it. My only complaint is that with the smallest jaws I have found I need to keep retightening the chuck every few minutes.

This is a real deal

This chuck is solid and the key operation is easier than trying to mesh the key and the teeth on the Oneway Stronghold. It's 2 pounds lighter too. Given the price of good chucks is $200 and up, a solid chuck with 4 sets of jaws for $299 is a very good deal. Separately, these jaw sets run about $45 each. That's $180 in jaws for $99!
