High quality - great sound

Bought the Ramrod after a lot of research into the popular speaker makers. Installed it into a Fender Super Champ XD (XCSD), and very happy with my investment! Base is solid and highs are great. The XCSD is a hybrid amp with a solid state preamp and tube power amp. The preamp models various other amps and needs a good speaker to reproduce them. The stock speaker is OK, but of course the Fender engineers had to control costs. A speaker upgrade looked like a good way to improve the XCSD.Some have recommended the Eminance Rajin Cajan, but it sounds too bright to me. Check out the sound clips on the Eminence site. Happy with my investment - thinking about trying the Lit'l Buddy :-)

I bought this speaker to replace the factory speaker that came in a Fender Frontman 25R. This speaker handles all the power the amp puts out with no sweat, where the factory speaker started breaking down and losing clarity at less than 50% volume.The bass is deep and rich, the mids are smooth and mellow and the highs are crystal clear. There are different models in the Red Coat series. I think the only difference is the wattage handling capability. The Red Coat Ramrod was an excellent choice for replacing a speaker that couldn't handle the output wattage of the amp.

It fit perfectly in my 10 inch cab and goes excellent with an orange micro terror head. A much tighter sound and response than the original celetion that was in there.
