Bauerfeind ViscoSpot's viscoelastic heel cushions have a softer silicone blue "spot" anatomically placed for additional cushioning where heel pain originates. Made of high quality medical grade silicone, ViscoSpot provides superior comfort and long lasting effectiveness. In fact, Bauerfeinds viscoelastic heel cushions have been clinically proven effective in the initial treatment of heel pain (plantar fasciitis) when used in conjunction with plantar fascia stretching exercises. The use of a device such as the Thermoskin Plantar FXT or Swede-O Night Splint are usually prescribed by doctors to also be used as part of the treatment regimen for plantar fasciitis.
Softer silicone in heel region for shock load reduction has additional cushioning on the medial side, the area most sensitive to plantar fasciitis pain. Definitely helps plantar fasciitis pain

Ordered this product on recommendation of colleague and the pain of plantar fasciitis which has dogged me for the last three months is now decreasing significantly. I'm on my feet alot and find it hard to give them a rest. This product adds that extra cushion and support that will hopefully help me heal. I used plain foam inserts before- they didn't really help and don't compare to the high quality material in this Bauerfeind product. Best $40 I've spent.

Unknowledgeable Customer Service

I called the customer service dept. of this seller before I purchased this item. I wear a woman's size 8 & the product description said that up to size 8 is a size 1, & size 8 & above is a size 2. Since my size fell into both categories and this item is non-returnable, I wanted to be sure that I'd be getting the right size. The person in customer service that I spoke to had no idea and was not familiar with the product. I ordered the size 1 & it was too small for me (it looked like it was sized for a child & it was supposed to fit up to size 8!) Now I am stuck with it, because they don't accept returns, even though I never used it. Also, this item is priced close to $40 & I was able to purchase very similar products for 1/4 of the price! Save your money & buy the ones they sell in your local drugstore, as my doctor reccomended.
