I have these matched with on old Yamaha 65w/chan. receiver and they sound very natural and clean. As advertised the bass is strong and tight, nearly needing no subwoofer. They are quite classy looking. I somehow got my for under $200 but they sound as good as if not better than my vr1s also by Boston Acoustics that cost $600 a pair when new in 2005. The woofer is not large but the type of cone and construction of the cabinet combine for great sound, and the highs are not overbearing or raspy. I would think they cost at least $500 for the pair.
