5All the 'look' at a fraction of the price
By C. Dodkin
I chose this watch because of the stunning, and currently very fashionable, 'Rolex green' colour - and because the price was right. So how does it stack up?Nice bright yellow display box to keep it safe during shipping and storage, watch was well protected as well with clear plastic wrap over all surfaces. The quality and finish are excellent, and the watch is easy to set for day and date.It has a clear back, so you can see the motion spring mechanism at work - pretty cool.Clasp and strap are well finished and work well - rotating bezel lines up perfectly at 12 O'clock - nice sweeping hand movement. Great look and great value.

5Really an awesome watch!
By Gadget Nut
THE REVIEW]INTRO:As far as I know, the Invicta 2844 has been discontinued by Invicta. This watch is part of the Abyss Diver collection which has the Miyota 21j automatic movements and styles that are both copies of the Rolex Submariners and Invicta originals. I chose this particular watch because I wanted something in green but with a little more contrast than the Submariner LV. The green on white is quite striking but even more so when the white is actually a green tinted mother of pearl, as it is here.PROS:- Mop Dial: Simply breathtaking. The dial is beautiful and provides excellent contrast with the green bezel.- The Hands: I really, really like the hands on this watch. They are very visible, being black and white against the MOP dial. There are also a quite different design from anything else I've seen. Refreshingly not at all like the Rolex.- Day-Date: While not a perpetual, the Miyota provides a nice and large day/date window.- Green Bezel: The numbers are nice and big with the green being a lighter shade than the LV but still rich and somewhat dark.- Bezel Teeth: The bezel teeth are nothing like the LV and are awesomely unique. I really like the design here. It is both easy to grasp and easy to turn but clicks (120 around) with authority. It honestly has the best feel of any bezel I own.- Unique Pearl: While the pearl structure itself is not all that great, the design is unique. There are also no alignment issues with the watch I received, it lines up perfectly.- Screw-in Crown: Are there diver's watches that don't have one?- See-through Caseback: The movement is not decorated in any way and looks quite plain but I like the see-through because it enables you to show people how the watch works without taking it apart. I did however take off the Invicta cover piece. By taking this off I was able to reduce the thickness of the case slightly and make it more comfortable. This does not appear to have any affect on the water resistance of watch either.- Bracelet: The links are nicely rounded and comfortable. The bracelet doesn't make any noise and is substantial but not too heavy. The only downside will likely be the polished center links that will be scratch magnets.- Size and Weight: Both the size and weight of this watch are a healthy balance. The size is not too large like many of Invicta's offerings but is still substantial enough for my relatively large wrists. The weight is also quite nice: not too heavy, not too light.- Movement: The Miyota movement used is a workhorse and should stand the test of time with minimal maintenance.- Water Resistance: The specs say 200m which means you can almost certainly do many watersports with the watch. Being a diver's watch with a screw-in crown this is a nice choice for those who want something they won't have to worry about in the water.- Warranty: Invicta warrants the watch for two years but if you buy from Amazon, as I did, your warranty gets bumped up to five years. I'm really not sure if Invicta is good or bad about service but at least they offer a decent length warranty.CONS:- Lume: The lume on the hands is awesome and almost lights up the whole watch after a charge. The lume on the hour markers however is quite mediocre. The lume on the markers also seems to be applied as a sticker to the markers and if you look closely enough you can see that they are not all lined up correctly.- Clasp: The bracelet clasp is stamped steel like the Rolex and is fairly comfortable. However, I have gotten used to push-button style deployments of the Omegas and would really like to see them standard on everything.- Movement: While the movement is rock-solid it is an unsightly, non-decorated, bulk Miyota. It's really nothing to write home about in the looks department. The movment is also a standard 21,600bph rather than the smoother 28,800bph. It is also non-hacking which is really the only true failing. I have only had the watch for a few hours so I cannot yet comment on the daily variation. All in all, the fact is that these movements will likely be reliable for a lifetime with only the most minimal of maintenance.CONCLUSION:I really couldn't be happier with this watch for what I paid. There are only a few minor complaints and the only thing that really surprised me and is a little frustrating is the dial lume. While it's not terrible, I have had other Invictas that had really nice lume. This is certainly not a deal breaker, not by a long shot, just a tiny bit disappointing. I guess I may have to have it relumed at some point to become a torch. All in all I think this is an excellent timepiece if you're in the market for a green watch. At $120 delivered, I have nothing to complain about.
